Job Description

The Rugby Football Union for Women Ltd (RFUW) is looking to appoint a Physiotherapist on a contractor basis. Reporting to the RFUW Head of Performance, they will provide hands-on physiotherapy support to the senior England Women’s Elite Player Squad at camps and competitions and on a regular basis at Twickenham.

The successful applicant will plan, co-ordinate and deliver the physiotherapy element of rehabilitation programmes from the point of injury to return to play; participate as part of a multi-disciplinary Sports Medicine and Science team that will lead in the development of a world class treatment provision for players. 

The candidate must develop strong working relationships with all Women’s premiership club physiotherapists and fitness advisers, as well as England women’s medical teams at U20 and England Sevens levels. 

Candidates will be qualified to degree level or equivalent in Physiotherapy; have membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP) and registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC). 

The successful candidate will also have a current Pitchside Immediate Trauma Care Course Certificate or reciprocal Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care Level 2 approved Pre-Hospital Sports immediate care certificate.Candidates must demonstrate experience in the provision of physiotherapy service to athletes and coaches to improve performance.  This experience should include extensive work with national teams or high performance squads.

Excellent problem solving, decision making, communication, team player and organisational skills are required.  The personal circumstances must allow for the successful candidate to work extended hours, evenings & weekends, including time overseas.  The successful candidate must also demonstrate commitment to personal continuous professional development.
