Lead sponsor of the RFU Mini Tag Rugby Scheme

The RFU YAZOO Tag Rugby scheme is an example of YAZOO’s commitment to supporting grassroots sports in the UK: the brand joined forces with the Rugby Football Union to bring Tag Rugby to over 450,000 school children each year, as well as donating balls, tag belts and other equipment to thousands of schools across the country.  Since the YAZOO sponsorship began over two years ago, the programme has reached over 1,000,000 children.

The Tag Rugby scheme is run by RFU Rugby Development Officers and Community Rugby Coaches who deliver over 25,000 training sessions each year in schools. The coaching programme culminates in more than 50 YAZOO-sponsored Tag Rugby Festivals throughout the UK, highlighting the ongoing campaign by the RFU and YAZOO to encourage the nation’s children to participate in sport and pursue healthier lifestyles.

England and Sale winger Mark Cueto is one of the RFU YAZOO Tag Programme Ambassador who helps to further promote the sport among the nation’s children.  

Commenting on the scheme, Cueto said: “I played mini-rugby between the ages of five and twelve years old and have some really happy memories from those times. I’ve already introduced the RFU YAZOO Tag Rugby programme to my own club Altrincham Kersal and work closely with YAZOO to promote the benefits of milk drinks in an active healthy life. Initiatives like this one are vital to securing the future of English sport.”
