Ages groups 6 through to 8 play a safe non contact form of the game known as tag rugby where the ages 9 and 10 play a midi form of the game with contact, scrums and lineouts. All age groups have there own qualified and CRB cleared coach to ensure the sessions are fun and safe.
Membership
Membership is free for the year 2008/2009 all we ask is a you pay a £1 per session you attend.
When is training?
Every Sunday from September through to April 10.15 to 12.00 noon unless there is an arranged fixture.
CHILD PROTECTION CRB
It is now RFU Policy (see P21, 12.3.1 of the RFU ‘Policy & Procedures for the Welfare of Young People’ document) that “all adults who have regular supervisory contact with young people” undertake a CRB disclosure. The RFU views disclosure, as does any organisation whom employs professionals or volunteers to work with young people, as proper and necessary recruitment practice.
How do I join?
Come along to a training session and if you like it then join. To join the club simply complete the RFU registration form (available from one of the coaches and attach 2 passport size photographs. All children must be registered before they can be selected to play.
Are the coaches qualified?
Joining the club ensures that your child is insured with the RFU for the duration of their years membership. It also gives parents social membership of the clubhouse. They will then be trained every Sunday (except holidays) of the season and be able to participate in matches with other clubs (if they wish). The club also arranges attendance at festivals (at additional cost) every year.
Do I need to buy a rugby kit?
Your child will need a gum shield, socks, suitable boots, shorts and rugby shirt for training. They will also require a tracksuit or warm clothing to change into during the winter. Showers are available for children to wash should it be muddy so they will require a towel and shower gel.
If children wish to play matches they will need a Westbury rfc kit (Black and green hooped rugby shirt, Black shorts shorts, black and green striped socks). New kit can be purchased through the coaches, to view kit available click on Club Shop.
All kit must be clearly marked with your child’s name.
Will my child need to bring anything to training?

Yes, they will need to bring a drink as they will get hot and thirsty even in the winter. Al coaches undertake coaching through the club's development schemes for coaches. They are also required to complete child protection forms in line with the club's Child Protection Policy. They are all volunteers, many from the parents of guardians and we are always looking for new helpers and coaches. Please see Coaches Profiles
