and further details on relevant squad pages.
Clubs, Schools and Colleges are invited to nominate players
they consider to have the potential to play County rugby.
County coaches have been concerned at the number of trialists
nominated over the past two years who have been well below that standard.
Nomination limits have been reduced for the coming season
to ensure players of genuine potential
have a fair opportunity to demonstrate their skills at the trials.
Nominators , Please :
Read carefully the Undertaking given on the Nomination Form
Check carefully that your nominees fulfill the Age Criteria
And Abide by the Nomination Limits given for each age grade.
Please note that the Deadline for Return of Nominations
for all Boys’ squads except U14s has been brought forward to 20th July.
The deadline for U14s is 28th September.
Once your nominations have been acknowledged
nominated players should attend the first trial without awaiting further invitation .
Each player must bring a signed Parental Consent Form to the first trial.
Only exceptional cases- for example ,
outstanding newly arrived players identified at the beginning of the autumn term-
will be considered after the deadline.
Nominators will need to obtain the approval of the head coach of the relevant squad
before sending these players to the trial.
Particular arrangements for different squads:
For the U16s Boys a number of players
identified this season and listed on the squad web page
will be invited to attend the second trial
and are exempted from the first.
For the U18s Boys a number of players
listed on the web pages will be invited but must attend the first trial.
For both squads any further nominations should be of equivalent standard
to the players listed.
For the U14s and U15s Boys’ squads no exemptions will be made
and all players,
including previous School of Rugby and Representative squad players
must be nominated and should attend the first trial.
As in the past season, a tournament between 3 District squads
will give opportunities both for development
and selection to the Representative squads for matches after Christmas.
Details of Nominations to the Boys’ U17s Development Squad

Dorset & Wilts School of Rugby
From September 2007 the Dorset & Wilts RFU
has administered a School of Rugby
for players at U13, U14, U15 and U16 levels
at Dauntsey’s School near Devizes and Bryanston School in Blandford.
The aim of the School of Rugby is to:
‘Develop and prepare highly skilled young players to play for England
and the broader English Game, supported by an effective,
well-trained workforce of coaches and other personnel...
all delivered by a strong partnership
of CBs, clubs, schools, and RFU Academies’.
Players attending the various age grade trials
and who the assessors consider fit these criteria
will be invited to attend as members of the Schools of Rugby.
