Website of the Month
Linda Stewart, Salcombe's webmaster, is a
particularly grateful winner of the latest Website of the Month award. Linda had
her treasured World Cup scarf, which she bought in Australia in 2003, stolen but
regards the special edition England World Cup medal she will receive for winning
the Touchline award as compensation.
"Thank you so much for the award. I
had the scarf stolen recently so the medal will be a great memento," Linda said.
"Keeping our club pages up-to-date is something that I really enjoy and I hope
that I'm helping to keep people who have visited us or moved away from the area,
informed of club news."
One man who has been a visitor to Salcombe's Two
Meads ground is former England coach Clive Woodward, who presented the prizes at
the club's annual sevens event when he popped into the club while he was
visiting the Devon resort last year and who returned for a coaching session with
Salcombe's Devon League Two squad in December. Photographs of Sir Clive's visits
take pride of place on Salcombe's website, along with detailed information about
on and off field activities at this busy rugby club.
