Players Supper 2004
As usual all had a wonderful time!! The food was superb, wine flowed freely as well as every other alcoholic drink in sight, including, probably some may disagree, the infamous Viking juice. Service was immaculate and it was a fitting finale to the end of a roller coaster season and great opportunity to say farewell to long standing back room helpers..... |
Story of three captains
Once upon a time the second team possibly inaptly named the "Vikings" as it was them that had the pillaging, was captained by Dave Marriott (far right), who was seconded to the firsts, so gallant Gary Belson (second from left) stepped up to the fore to champion his position, but was then also, in his prime, whipped (that's why he was smiling) off to the firsts. The plight of the seconds was dire until up rode a hat a very fine hat indeed and so was born the third captain of the year John `the hat' Burns (far left). Which, ye olde story listeners, brings us to the award of the second team honours tie by the three amigos to Stuart Martin....
