- Corry believes England must slow the ball down to beat NZ
- Disrupting set pieces will be vital
Former England captain Martin Corry believes England must be as physically daunting as possible if they are to beat New Zealand this Saturday at Twickenham.
Speaking after the match against Argentina last weekend, Corry said: “[New Zealand] are going to want to play a fast open game. In the breakdown we’ve got to slow the ball down, make the collisions big and the big battle is always going to be upfront with them.
“If we can deny them good set piece ball then that’s going to be our biggest threat.”
England will host New Zealand this weekend in the last match of the Investec Challenge Series, and the game forms part of a unique double header that will see England women take on the New Zealand women’s team in a 4.45pm kick off.
Tickets for the men’s match are now sold out, but entry to the Twickenham stadium to watch the women is free from 4.15pm
Corry is Twickenham’s resident matchday pundit, and has been giving his thoughts on England’s performances before, during and after each of the Investec Challenge matches.
