- All Blacks announce starting 15 for Twickenham test match
- Carter and Wilkinson to face-off at fly half
New Zealand have made wholesale changes to their starting line-up for this weekend’s match against England at Twickenham. Of the 15 starters that beat Italy 20-6 last weekend only winger Sitiveni Sivivatu and lock Tom Donnelly will be on the pitch when Saturday’s game kicks off at 2.30pm.
All Blacks Coach Graham Henry said: “It doesn’t get much bigger than England at Twickenham. It will be another fantastic challenge for the All Blacks. We are focussed on preparing well this week and looking forward to playing a determined England side.”
Henry has been able to name Dan Carter in the starting 15 after the fly half carried out a one game suspension against Italy. Carter’s place at 10 means that he and England fly half Jonny Wilkinson will start against each other this weekend in their national colours for the first time.
Although Wilkinson and Carter played against each other during the British and Irish Lions tour of New Zealand in 2005, the only time they have faced each other while representing their countries was in 2003 in Wellington. Carter made an appearance from the bench but it was not enough to stop England winning 15-13.
At fullback, Mils Muliaina will make his 81st appearance for New Zealand on Saturday, becoming the All Blacks’ second highest capped player of all time.
