VIDEO – Moody wants special performance from England

  • Moody believes England must deliver 90 minutes of intensity to beat NZ
  • Flanker expects All Blacks to play with intelligence and physicality

England’s players must give everything they have if they are to beat New Zealand on Saturday, according to flanker Lewis Moody.

Speaking ahead of this weekend’s Investec Challenge match against the All Blacks at Twickenham, Moody said: “If you can leave the pitch having beaten the All Blacks you know you’ve left nothing unturned on that pitch and you know you’ve left nothing of yourself on it as well.”

With 54 caps since his England debut in 2001, Moody is one of the few players in the current England squad who has experienced victory against the All Blacks. He was a try scorer at Twickenham in 2002 when England won 31-28.

“New Zealand is always a special team to play,” said Moody. “You know they’re going to bring physicality, but you know they’re going to bring a really intelligent game play as well.”

England host New Zealand this weekend in the last match of the Investec Challenge Series, and the game forms part of a unique double header that will see England women take on the New Zealand women’s team in a 4.45pm kick off.

Tickets for the men’s match are now sold out, but entry to the Twickenham stadium to watch the women is free from 4.15pm.
