- Cole makes Championship point on eve of season
England prop Dan Cole speaks about how his experience in the Championship set him on the road to international honours with England in this week's RFU Podcast.
The RFU Championship campaign starts this weekend with Bedford v Plymouth Albion, Moseley v Esher and Worcester v Birmingham Solihull on Saturday and Bristol v Rotherham, Cornish Pirates v Doncaster and Nottingham v London Welsh taking place on Sunday.
Leicester Tigers tighthead Cole appeared for both Bedford and Nottingham before his career took off at Welford Road to force his way into Martin Johnson's senior squad.
"The time spend with Bedford was massive for my development and the game time at Nottingham was part of that continuum – it's a really tough league," said Cole.
