- Wilkinson speaks of Wales' 'big game experience' ahead of RBS 6 Nations opener
- Fly half honoured to play in Twickenham's centenary fixture
Jonny Wilkinson anticipates another monumental clash with Wales in the RBS 6 Nations opener on Saturday and points to big game experience as the key asset in the Welsh armoury.
World-record test points scorer Wilkinson has kicked England to 54 victories in his 73 games. After three consecutive appearances in the Investec Challenge Series this autumn, he is ready to line up against Wales on February 6 in England opening game of the 2010 RBS 6 Nations.
Speaking exclusively to RFU TV, the Toulon and England fly half expects Wales to bring quality and experience to Twickenham.
"Wales have got a great deal of experience in a lot of areas. Players like Stephen Jones and Shane Williams are used to playing big games week in week out and you must bring that experience and make it count in the little encounters you face during the game."
As the centenary game, celebrating 100 years of rugby at Twickenham approaches, England and Wales are tied on 53 wins each and Wilkinson is honoured to be part of that rich history.
He added: "I feel massively proud and privileged to be part of that journey.
"It makes you realise when you hear things like that just what you are playing for, who you are playing for and what you are representing. It brings some perspective to think about the guys who played 100 years ago and what it meant to them, but this game just keeps getting bigger and bigger."
