- England knocked out by tournament winners in NZ semis
- Fijians take advantage at the turnover to sink England’s title hopes
England have lost their New Zealand Sevens title to cup winners Fiji in a 28-19 semi final defeat.
Last year's winners couldn't hold on to their cup dream despite putting in a brave performance against the South Sea Islanders.
Youngsters Dan Caprice (Blackheath) and Mat Turner (Bristol Rugby) crossed the line for England but Ben Ryan's side turned over too much ball and the Fijians took advantage to come back from an early deficit to build a lead they never relinquished.
After losing their captain Kevin Barrett (Saracens) to injury on day one Ryan's side came back to beat Canada in the quarter final 31-0 with Ben Gollings (Gold Coast), Turner and Caprice adding to the scoreboard.
England will now travel to the USA for next weekend's Las Vegas Sevens where they will face Wales, Japan and Argentina in the pool stages.
