- Flutey and Hape return to full training
- Borthwick to miss Tuesday’s training because of illness
Centres Riki Flutey and the Shontayne Hape are both fit and in contention for selection ahead of England’s RBS 6 Nations match against Italy on Saturday.
Having missed England’s Investec Autumn International series through injury, CA Brive’s Flutey had been named in the starting XV to face Wales before he picked up a knock in training that made him unavailable for selection.
After being handed a place on the bench against Wales, the uncapped Shontayne Hape (Bath Rugby) was also unable to make the trip to Twickenham on Saturday because of illness.
While Flutey and Hape return to training this week, England Captain Steve Borthwick (Saracens) will not be training with the Senior England EPS today due to illness, and won’t be available for this afternoon’s media session.
It is anticipated that Borthwick will return to training tomorrow.
England’s next match in the RBS 6 Nations is against Italy in Rome on 14 February.
