  • Foden, Youngs, Monye, Worsley, Easter and Flood speak to RFU.com

Martin Johnson’s England squad are currently enjoying their holidays before regrouping at Twickenham for a week-long training camp from August 8.

Prior to their summer break, RFU.com caught up with some of the players to discuss their ultimate rugby heroes.

Find out who Ben Foden, Ben Youngs, Ugo Monye, Joe WorsleyNick Easter and Toby Flood picked as someone got the wrong-shaped ball and plumped for Geordie football hero Alan Shearer.

Former All Black legends feature prominently, with England players admiring their individual brilliance and team mentality.

Talking about a conspicuous New Zealand number 15, Northampton Saints full back Foden said: "I remember as a kid watching him play at full back for New Zealand; that guy was unreal and I used to love watching him run the ball back. The way he would step off that left foot running at 300 miles an hour was unbelievable."

On the influence of the Kiwis’ attacking rugby on his style of play, Leicester Tigers scrum half Youngs added: "They were never afraid to try something out of the ordinary and inspired you to do the same.

"Also, although they care about the end result, they give off the impression that they’ll try anything – if it goes right then brilliant but if it doesn’t don’t worry about it, I think that’s a fantastic way to be."
