- Ugo Monye looks at England’s RBS 6 Nations campaign to date
- Quins wing says the team must be more clinical
England and Harlequins wing Ugo Monye believes England need to be more clinical in the opposition 22, as the team heads into this weekend’s match against Scotland.
Monye, who has 12 caps and scored against Scotland in the RBS 6 Nations win at Twickenham last season, is yet to register a try in this season’s competition and admits it has been frustrating for the back three.
Speaking exclusively to RFU TV, he said: "It’s been really frustrating because we’ve had opportunities where we could’ve capitalised and we haven’t.
"It’s part of our game that we need to improve on because the forwards seem to be getting us some really good ball and when we get over the advantage line we really need to maximise it."
Monye starred for the British & Irish Lions in South Africa last summer – scoring a length of the field try in the Third Test – and he says the narrow loss to Ireland was difficult to take.
"The Ireland game stings because we had plenty of opportunities," he said.
"We didn’t turn our pressure and territory into points and you have to take your hat off to Ireland – they had three chances, took them all and came away with the win.
"The margins in international rugby are that slim and we need to learn from that."
