VIDEO - Easter pinpoints Scottish threat

12 March 2010

  • Easter up for the fight against Scotland’s “big boys”
  • “More to come” from England in Murrayfield clash

England and Harlequins No.8 Nick Easter believes winning this weekend’s Calcutta cup clash will mean containing unpredictable Scottish attacking and a very physical forward line.

Speaking exclusively to RFU TV, Easter said: “They’ve got some big boys and they’re actually playing some good rugby at the moment and coming from all areas. There’s no set pattern that they stick to and they keep you alert with moves round the front of the lineout and hitting up then coming back.

“We’ll have to be on our guard, but then when we’ve got the ball we’ll have to ask some questions of them as well.”

Easter will win his 31st cap on Saturday against Scotland, and after a stinging RBS 6 Nations defeat to Ireland last time out, he expects a resurgent performance from England at Murrayfield.

“You’re always under a little bit more pressure having just lost a game and there’s always going to be a massive challenge going up there. They’re a good side, playing well. They’ve not got the results but they’re playing good rugby. But, there’s still a lot more to come from us.”
