VIDEO – Worsley pinpoints French threats

  • Worsley speaks exclusively to RFU TV about France test
  • Flanker highlights the French pace and flair as main threat

Joe Worsley (London Wasps) says France’s pace and flair will present a stern challenge on Saturday and England are under no illusions about the size of the task awaiting them at the Stade de France.

The England and London Wasps flanker is Martin Johnson’s most experienced forward and will win his 77th cap against Marc Lievremont’s side.

Speaking exclusively to RFU TV, Worsley said: “The French have got some fantastic players who would fit into a World XV.

"If you miss tackles against them they’ll offload or break themselves and they have people running off them and they have the pace to go the length of the field and score tries.

"Our defence on the whole has been ok though and it’s the attack we need to worry about."

Worsley limped out of the Investec Internationals last autumn with a knee injury and is pleased to have re-established himself in England’s RBS 6 Nations campaign.

"I was nervous about being involved at all in this 6 Nations so to be back and get two starts is the best case scenario.

"I’m very pleased to be back starting for England but starting is part of it, playing well is the other."
