Impressive Samoa record second successive win
Samoa took their second title in a row on the HSBC Sevens World Series, producing a display of power and attacking rugby on the final day to close to within two points of leaders New Zealand.
The South Sea Islanders secured back-to-back wins for the first time by defeating the USA 38-10 in the final, with the much improved Americans competing in their first ever cup final.
Try machine Mikaele Pesamino scored 11 tries for the second tournament in a row, taking his personal haul to 39 this season, while forward trio Alafoti Fa'osiliva, Simaika Mikaele and Ofisa Treviranus made significant contributions.
Overall the Cup quarter finals produced some thrilling action and the unpredictability of sevens with the USA to the fore, first defeating Wales in the quarters and then Argentina in the semis.
Samoa edged New Zealand for the fourth game in succession with two last-gasp scores and Australia delighted the home crowd by seeing off Fiji before running into the Samoan steamroller.
Else where, the Kiwi defeated reigning IRB Sevens World Series champions South Africa to win the Plate; England won the Bowl against Kenya; and Japan beat Tonga in the Shield final.

England in Adelaide
England recovered from two losses on day one in Adelaide to win the Bowl title with a 33-12 win over Kenya in the final.
London Wasps and England Under 20 wing Christian Wade scored two tries, with Tom Powell and Jake Abbott grabbing the others.
Ben Ryan’s side won all their matches on day two and didn’t concede a point in the first two, defeating Papua New Guinea 47-0 and then France 17-0.
Ben Gollings was at his usual best, scoring a tournament leading 60 points and extending his position as the overall HSBC Sevens World Series highest points scorer with 2,322.
England add four points to their overall series total to sit fifth overall with three rounds to play.
