Job Description

With the Rugby World Cup edging ever closer, now couldn’t be a better time to join the Rugby Football Union and help secure the sport’s legacy in the lead up to and beyond 2015.

We are currently seeking a Kids First Development Manager, who will provide focus and momentum to the RFU strategy of developing the game across the 12 and under age group, known as Kids First Rugby.  Through their specialist knowledge and technical expertise, they will guide and support internal colleagues, field-based staff, Constituent Body representatives, clubs, schools and other key stakeholders to execute the tactical implementation of Kids First Rugby, ensuring children are engaged in an appropriate and attractive game that encourages them to not only start but to stay with rugby through to adulthood.

The Kids First Development Manager will be required to build strong cross-functional relationships with stakeholders to help drive and guide the rollout, while in turn, ensuring the quality of existing opportunities and developing new innovative solutions to address common challenges at both local and national level.  They will help build competitive opportunities, a trained workforce of deliverers and a set of support resources for the Kids First age group.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong, practical experience of the strategic development and operational workings of the sport, along with solid experience of rugby in clubs and education. They will possess experience in a leadership role with proven ability to articulate an overall function strategy to others and translate it into successful working practices.

Strong experience of working with national and regional agencies in sport is also a prerequisite for the post.
