Following the retirement of the current post holder, the Midlands U16s Delivery Team is seeking to appoint an Honorary Chairman of Selectors to coordinate and organise the player assessment programme leading to the formation of a Midlands Divisional U16 Squad from talented players within the Community Game.
The Chairman will lead a team of Midlands U16s Divisional Selectors to provide a uniform player assessment and ensure that a grading system is in place for inter-county matches. He/she will work in conjunction with the coaching team and team manager to facilitate the selection of players in an objective manner in accordance with the RFU National & Divisional Selection/Assessment Handbook.
The applicant should have significant experience of coaching or selecting U16 or U18 players at CB and Divisional levels and demonstrate a sound understanding of talent identification and selection systems.
The successful candidate will be an RFU Accredited Selector and hold a minimum RFU Level 2 coaching qualification or its equivalent. They will demonstrate the organisational and management skills commensurate with such a position, combined with tact and diplomacy.
