Job Description

The Rugby Football Union is looking to appoint a full-time Women’s AASE (Achieving Academic and Sporting Excellence) Divisional Talent Development Officer (DTDO) based at Hartpury College, Gloucestershire.

They will deliver the talent development coaching and playing programme to talented female AASE players. This will include providing the necessary pathways through AASE for the identification and further development of young players who are considered to have the potential to be selected for the England senior and sevens squads. The role will combine on-field rugby delivery expertise with sound organisational and administration responsibilities.

They will work collaboratively with other RFU staff, club coaches, parents and educational institutions to ensure an effective and coordinated talent development programme for the AASE female athletes.

Reporting to the RFU Player Development Manager for Women, the AASE DTDO will play a significant role in the development of talented players and the success of England Women’s Rugby as a whole.

The successful applicant will support the player pathway at all levels within the programme including the talent identification and selection process as required by the Player Development Manager and will provide support for the Talent Development Groups, U20 programme and Divisional programme.

The successful applicant will be an excellent communicator, well organised, a strong motivator, enthusiastic and committed to the development of talented aspiring players as well as the development of women’s rugby as a whole.

Candidates should have knowledge and experience of coaching rugby union with a minimum Level 2 Coaching Certificate and a commitment to work towards Level 3 certificate is essential. Proven experience of developing teams/individual players is desirable.
