Aldershot & Fleet (A&F) RFC have come a long way in a short space of time. The club started in 1991 as a pub side when 12 players would meet on a Saturday morning and grab anyone else around to make up a team – many of these early players are still active members of the club and we try to maintain this social ethos.

Things have moved on and the club now has an enthusiastic team of coaches and a well-organised committee, who are determined to see the club succeed. The hard work of the members has also seen the recent construction of a brand new clubhouse/changing facility at Aldershot Park, which the club is extremely proud of and the next stage of our development is to ensure that this facility is being used to its maximum potential. 

A&F RFC currently runs two teams with the 1st XV playing in Hampshire 1 and the 2nd XV playing in the Hampshire Merit tables. The club has a senior player base of approximately 60 that are drawn from both the community and the local army barracks and training numbers vary from between 10 and 25 each week. We have a growing minis and junior section including stable teams at U16 and colts.

Our vision as a club is to maintain our friendly and social nature and use this to retain our current players, recruit new players and bring through junior/colts players to the senior teams. In the short term we would like to consolidate our current league level and aim to be challenging in the top half. It is important to us to expand our player base and ensure that everyone who wants to play can get an appropriate game and enjoys their rugby.

Job description/time commitment:
• Lead squad coaching sessions on Tuesday/Thursday evenings
• Available to support the 1st XV both home and away on Saturday afternoons
• Lead selection and work with a manager to communicate with players
• Support club recruitment initiatives
• Support the transition of junior/colts players to the senior teams

Person specification:
Essential/desirable
• Organised/Level 2 qualified – not essential but relevant experience preferable
• Knowledgeable/experienced – experience of managing people
• Passionate/enthusiastic 

This is a voluntary position. However, club clothing and coaching kit will be provided. The club would also consider investing in coaching CPD for the right candidate should they give a longer term commitment.
