The London Irish Community Rugby Coach is responsible for the development, delivery and reporting of all community rugby programmes. The Community Coach must be a mentor and adviser to other Community Department members.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver and evaluate sessions in line with individual needs for all community programmes including the Independent Schools Programme, National Schools Programmes, and paid-for services
- Report all sessions prompt and accurately – Key Performance Indicators/Case studies/MARS
- Actively seek new partnerships with state and independent education establishments, rugby clubs and commercial sector partners along with developing and maintaining current ones
- Take an active lead with paid-for services including rugby camps, matchday activities and festivals
- Stimulate effective marketing and communications schemes and ideas
- Customer service – exceed expectations of quality in product and staff
- Support colleagues to encourage and develop sport, health and education in the local, regional and national community
- Plan, deliver and evaluate coach education sessions in line with individual needs for all community programmes including the Independent Schools Programme, National Schools Programmes, and paid-for services
- Take an active role in the Academy structure and coaching techniques for personal development and the development of the players involved – this includes talent identification from regular community activity
In essence, the Community Coach will be evaluated on the success of community coaching and maintaining frontline relationships with all stakeholders. Key performance indicators and targets will be agreed with the Head of Community prior to the season.
