Job Title: Head of Officiating, Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby
Location: Mobile workplace
Status: 24 days per annum (initial contract commitment)
Salary: £70 per day + expenses
Reports to: National Development Director
Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby (GBWR) is the National Governing body (NGB) for the sport in England, Scotland and Wales. In 2010 it began its ambitious transformation programme aimed at growing the sport and developing pathways for athletes, coaches, officials and administrators as well as developing a medal-winning performance system. The London 2012 Paralympic Games showcased the sport across the world and has created an unprecedented level of interest in the game which is translating into greater participation and the creation of new clubs. GBWR is now looking to establish a Head of Officiating to lead on all technical and administrative support relevant to GBWR and on all aspects of Officials activity including domestic competition, education and pathway development.
We are seeking a highly-motivated and enthusiastic individual who shares our passion for providing opportunities for individuals to get involved in wheelchair rugby as officials. You will be an experienced administrator with at least 3 years experience of wheelchair rugby. You will have a good understanding of the laws and mechanics of the sport and you will have a sound technical knowledge of the game. You will be a team player but equally comfortable with working on your own to deliver key targets. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills and you will be comfortable with working with a wide range of partners.
