Andrew Scoular - Community Rugby Director

How did you get to where you are today?
Well I started in sports development with Hockey before moving to the National Coaching Foundation (now ScUK). I then went on to work for Glasgow City Council and I now find myself at the RFU.
What does your role involve?
I am responsible for the development and promotion of the Community Game which involves clubs, schools, HE/FE, coaching , refereeing, volunteering, equity & safeguarding and finally community medical.
What do you enjoy most about working for the RFU?
The variety and the people.
What is your take on Rugby?
It is the ultimate team sport with a place for everyone.
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
The job, it’s a real vocation.
What does the future hold for you both at the RFU and your career?
Looking forward to the RWC 2015!
Tell us something interesting about you?
I played international Hockey and have 120 caps as well as being an international coach.
