Stephen Brown, Chief Financial Officer

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) role at the RFU has responsibility for all the corporate support services ensuring that the RFU runs effectively and efficiently on a day to day basis, including: Finance, Human Resources and People Development, Legal and Governance, Planning and Reporting and Marketing and Communications.
CFO Stephen Brown joined the RFU on June 10, 2011 from the UK operation of Abbott, the global, broad-based health care company, where he was UK Finance Director for five years after a decade with the company, during which he covered a number of other senior financial positions in the business, including UK Pharmaceutical manufacturing and at Abbott's Paris-based Commercial Regional Headquarters.
Prior to joining Abbott, Brown spent three years as the Business Support Manager and Group Head of Finance for British Energy PLC, responsible for delivering Finance, IT, HR Purchasing and Facility services to the business. He originally trained as an accountant in the National Health Service where he held a number of financial roles including Audit Manager for a group of eight NHS Trusts.
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and lives in Buckinghamshire with his wife and three daughters.
