Terrace Talk - National Three South

Dings Crusaders v Old Patesians

8th placed Dings Crusaders entertain 10th placed Old Patesians looking to return to winning ways after some disappointing results of late. .

Dings have slipped down the league table in recent weeks and have managed just one win in their last six matches. At home they still have a good record with eight wins form 11 matches but only picked up two bonus points in those games.

Old Patesians are on a mini revival and have put together a three match winning run to climb the table and end any relegation fears. On the road though they have managed just three wins all season although on current form they will be confident of making that four and possibly move up a place in the table.

When these two sides met earlier in the season at Everest Road Dings came out on top winning 29-6.

Prediction:  Home win by three points.

Havant v Barking

Leaders Barking have a tough match at Fraser Road against Havant but victory would see them secure the National Three South title.

Havant have done well of late with three wins and a draw in their last six matches and could possibly move up to place if they were to defeat the league leaders. At home they have done reasonably well with seven wins form 11 matches so far this season.

Barking are closing in on the National Three South league title and a chance to play at National Two level for the first time ever.

On the road this season they have won 10 out of 11 and should make it win number 11 on Saturday but they will need to be on their guard.

When these two sides met at Gorsebrook earlier in the season the home side came through winning 34-16.

Prediction:  Away win by eight points.

North Walsham v Southend

North Walsham are looking to end their worst run in years having lost their last four matches when they entertain 11th placed Southend at Scottow.

.

North Walsham’s season finally caught up with them in recent weeks and their title and play off hopes have disappeared completely of late with four straight defeats. At home though they still have a great record with nine wins form 11 matches.

Southend have a poor record on the road this season with just three wins from 11 matches and only the bottom three have a worse record.

Recent form has not been too good for Southend with just two wins in six matches.

Prediction:  Home win by six points.

Reading v Hertford

Seventh placed Reading entertain fifth placed Hertford looking to maintain their excellent recent form.

Reading are on a good run late with three successive wins behind them and with their good home record which has seen them pick up seven wins at Holme Road this season.

A win for Reading with a bonus point would see them join Hertford on 61 points although they have a far inferior point’s difference.

Hertford Are another Form side and are looking to make it five wins in a row and sit second in the Form Guide behind league leaders Barking.

On the road they have a reasonable record with four wins and a draw from their 11 matches to date.

When these two met earlier in the season home advantage counted with Hertford running out winners 19-6.

Prediction:  Tough call this one but home win by six points.

Redruth v Westcombe Park

Redruth will be looking for victory as they close in on second place with just three matches left as they entertain ninth placed Westcombe Park.

Redruth need two wins form their last three matches to guarantee second spot and a place in the play offs and with home advantage over Combe they will see this as one of those wins. Their two matches after this are Hertford at home and Southend away.

At home they have won 10 out of 11 with only Barking leaving with a victory.

Combe have managed to pull clear of the relegation zone and are safe now on 51 points thanks to their improved recent form which sees them in fourth spot in the Form Guide with five wins in their last six matches.

On the road this season they have managed just three wins from their 11 matches to date.

Redruth were 35-18 winners at Goddington Dene earlier in the season when these two sides met.

Prediction:  Home win by six points.

Tabard v Lydney

Second bottom Tabard now preparing for live in London One after many years in National Three South entertain an in form Lydney side. .

Tabard are at the wrong end of the form guide with no wins in their last six matches. At home this season they have managed just three wins from their 11 matches.

Lydney have won three out of their last four and their last two by huge margins. They have a chance of catching third placed North Walsham who are going through a real bad spell at the moment and with Lydney having a home match against Dings and a visit to Reading, North Walsham need to return to winning ways.

When these two sides met earlier in the season at Regentsholme Lydney were 38-29 winners.

Prediction:  Away win by 12 points or more.

Weston super Mare v Haywards Heath

Weston super Mare entertain bottom of the table Haywards Heath knowing that they have to win to have any chance of avoiding the drop down to South West One.

Weston are looking to end a three match losing run with home advantage over bottom of the table Haywards Heath as they look for a minor miracle in their efforts to avoid the drop. Although they have Barking to come at home yet and a trip to second bottom Tabard in their remaining two matches.

At home this season they have managed just four wins and a draw losing the other six matches.

Haywards Heath have managed just the one win on the road all season with a victory at Tabard.
