Cheltenham 6 (Pens: Parker 2.) 

Clifton 36 (Tries: Steetskamp, Lambert, McQuaid 2, Lloyd. Cons: Barnes 4. Pen: Barnes.) 

Clifton got the win to stay level with Bridgwater & Albion but need them to lose on the final day as they will not be able to overcome a 197 points difference.   

After Dave Parker and John Barnes exchanged early penalty goal Clifton ran in three tries to move into a 22-3 lead with half time approaching before Parker added a second penalty goal.

Two more tries in the second half was Clifton move further clear as they wrapped up the win.

 

Gloucester Old Boys 10 (Tries: Cuthbert, Preston.) 

Cinderford 83 (Tries: Patea 5, Bazeley 4, Virgin 2, Meek, Obileye. Cons: Trigg 9.) 

Cinderford wrapped up the Powergen South West One league title with the comfortable win away at already relegated Gloucester Old Boys.   

Cinderford ran in 13 tries with No 8 Ronnie Patea bagging five of them to go to 21 for the season, one behind the leader Neil Meyer of Bridgwater. Winger Richard Bazeley ran in four tries whilst flanker Dave Virgin bagged a brace. Dan Trigg managed to convert 9 of the tries and closed the gap on John Barnes at the top of the points scorers list to just two points.

 

Keynsham 23 (Tries: Hall, Wells, Harwood. Con: Edsom. Pens: Edsom 2.) 

Clevedon 23 (Tries: Shopland 2, McMillan. Con: Hawkes. Pens: Hawkes 2.) 

This draw gave Cleveland the point they needed to guarantee their survival in Powergen South West One for another season. 

Scrum half Hall gave the home side the lead in the 10th minute with a try converted by Paul Edsom, who extended the lead five minutes later with a penalty goal and when wing Harwood went over for a try in the 17th minute they had a 15-0 lead.

Before half time the visitors pulled three points back with a penalty goal from fly half David Hawkes.

10 minutes into the second half and it was all square with tries form flanker James Shopland and Hawkes converted to tie the scores.

Edsom kicked the home side ahead again with a 62nd minute penalty goal. Five minutes later and Clevedon took the lead for the first time in the match with second row McMillan touching down. With the match about to go into injury time the home side snatched the lead with full back David Wells going over for an unconverted try.

Clevedon were not finished and managed a win a penalty in the 85th minute and Hawkes converted it to take the draw.

 

Maidenhead 24 (Tries: Mackay 2, Martin, Ayers. Cons: Walton 2) 

Chinnor 32 (Tries: Grimsdell 2, Shaw, Hewitt. Cons: Cathcart 3. Pen: Cathcart. DG: Cathcart.) 

Excellent away win for Chinnor at a Maidenhead side who have had a great second half to the season and close the gap on the home side to a point with one match remaining.    

The first half was an even affair with the sides going in 12 all with both sides running in a couple of tries. For the home side there was a double for centre Stuart Mackay.

Early in the second half the visitors went 22-12 ahead with full back James Hewitt scoring a try and James Cathcart converting it and slotting over a penalty goal.

Maidenhead then turned it round with tries from wing Danny Martin and scrum half Ben Ayers and replacement Dan Walton converted one of them for a 24-22 lead.

Late in the game Chinnor snatched the win with wing Richard Grimsdell touching down, Cathcart converted and them sealed the win with a drop goal.    

 

Penryn 22 (Tries: C Mann, J Mann, Pellow. Cons: Pascoe 2. Pen: Pascoe.) 

Oxford Harlequins 25 (Tries: Mawle, Nutt, Noyce. Cons: Noyce 2. Pens: Noyce 2.) 

With this away win Oxford Harlequins move above Penryn in the table on points difference.   

The home side took an early lead with a try from flanker James Mann. By half time the visitors had pulled it round with tries from centre Charlie Mawle and wing Barrie Nutt. Andy Noyce converted on of these tries and then went over for a try himself and converted to lead 19-7.

Noyce extended the lead early in the second half with a penalty goal and quickly followed it with another one for 25-7.

Penryn then launched a comeback with Pascoe slotting over a penalty goal in the 51st minute. Replacement Dave Pellow went over for a try on 56 minutes and Pascoe converted. They did manage another try on 80 minutes with wing Chris Mann touching down for an unconverted try.

 

St Mary’s Old Boys 7 (Try: Gill. Con: Martin) 

Bridgwater & Albion 54 (Tries: Leung Wei 3, Meyer 4, Hastie, Hancock, Cox. Cons: George 2.) 

Bridgwater remain in second spot after this emphatic away win and now just need to win their final match of the season to take their place in the play offs.                                

The visitors went into a 22-0 lead with doubles from full back Neil Meyer and Sam Leung Wei whilst Andrew George added a conversion. The home side did pull a try back later in the half with wing Allan Gill touching down but in injury time Leung completed a hat trick to go in 27-7 ahead.

In the second half Meyer got the first two tries of the half to move onto four for the match and 22 for the season to top the try scorers list.

Three more tries saw them top the 50 point mark and maintain second place with a huge points difference advantage over Clifton.
