Saturday 23rd April

 

Blackheath v Doncaster

 

Champions, Doncaster travel to Blackheath with the home side still needing a couple of points to be sure of National Two rugby next season.  

 

Blackheath have done well recently with five wins in their last six matches and are now nine points clear of a relegation place with two matches remaining.

Blackheath have picked up just five wins at home this season which is as many as they have on the road this season.

 

Doncaster will be looking to keep their winning run going with an 11th away win of the season.

 

When these two sides met earlier in the season it was a Doncaster home win but they were given a tough match before coming through 22-19.

 

Prediction:  Doncaster to win by eight points.

Esher v Launceston

 

10th placed Esher entertain 5th placed Launceston knowing they need to win this game to make sure the sides below them in the league table.  

 

Esher were beaten last time out going for a third straight win going down to a defeat at Nuneaton. If they can win this match and Nuneaton and Harrogate fail to win then they will be safe. At home they have the sixth best record in the division with seven wins in 12 matches.

 

Launceston are down in 10th place in the Form Guide with just two wins in their last six matches and have lost their last three matches.

On the road this season they have a great record with six wins and two draws in their 12 matches to date.

 

At Polson Bridge earlier in the season Launceston were comfortable winners over Esher 38-18.

 

Prediction:  Home win by eight points.

Harrogate v Manchester

 

12th placed Harrogate entertain sixth placed Manchester knowing they have to win this one in the battle to avoid the drop into National Three North.

 

Harrogate could move up a couple of places in the table if they can were this home match and Bracknell and Esher slip up. If they lose and Bracknell and Esher win they will be relegated though.

They have won three of their last four matches including an excellent away win at Launceston last time out.

At home this season they have picked up four wins and a draw in their 12 matches which is as many wins as they have had on the road this season.

 

Manchester are at the wrong end of the Form Guide with just one win and a draw in their last six matches, and were well beaten by Moseley last time out.

On the road they have managed four wins and a d raw in their 12 matches this season.

 

When these two sides met at Grove Park earlier in the season the home side came out on top in a low scoring match. 18-9

 

Prediction:  Home win by five points.

Moseley v Waterloo

 

Third placed Moseley entertain fourth placed Waterloo looking to pounce if Newbury slip up in their last two matches.  

 

Moseley are looking for a third consecutive win as they look to hang on to the very small chance of catching Newbury. At home they have a good record with ten wins form their 12 matches.

 

Waterloo will be looking to return to wining ways at Moseley after losing last time out at home to Blackheath.

On the road this season, Waterloo have picked up seven wins in 12 matches, the 4th best record in the division.

 

Moseley are looking to do the double over Waterloo having won already in Waterloo 24-25 earlier in the season. 

 

Prediction:  Home win by six points.

Rosslyn Park v Nuneaton

 

Bottom of the table Rosslyn Park entertain 13th placed Nuneaton on Saturday looking to finish the season with some wins and built on their win last time out.

 

Park were comfortable winners at Stourbridge last time out and would love to make it back to back wins and finish of the season at home with a win.

 

Nuneaton know they must win this match to try and move out of the relegation zone if the other results go their way. They are one of the form sides in the division and have picked up five wins in their last six matches but still find themselves deep in trouble.

Nuneaton have managed just the three wins on the road this season and what they would give for a fourth    

Park were convincing winners at Liberty Way earlier in the season with a 33-9 success.

 

Prediction:  Nuneaton to win by seven points.

Stourbridge v Newbury

 

Seventh placed Stourbridge take on second placed Newbury who are looking to wrap up second place with a win at Stourton Park.

 

Stourbridge are looking to end a three match losing run with a win at home to Newbury but will have to overcome a poor home record. They have the second worst home record in the division with just three wins in 12 matches.  

 

Newbury are looking to secure the second spot with a win in this match with a game to spare. After losing two in three they are now looking for a third consecutive win in the league with an eighth away win of the season.

 

When these two sides met at Monks lane earlier in the season Newbury ran out comfortable 42-13 winners.

 

Prediction:  Newbury to secure promotion with seven point win.

Wharfedale v Bracknell

 

Ninth placed Wharfedale entertain 11th placed Bracknell with both sides in need of the points.

 

Wharfedale still need a couple of points to guarantee National Two rugby next season as they look to end a dreadful recent run which sees them bottom of the From Guide with just a draw and five defeats in their last six matches. At home they have a 50/50 record with six wins and six defeats.

 

Bracknell are second bottom of the Form Guide with one win and five defeats in their last six matches. Away from home they have picked up just two wins and a draw this season and only Nuneaton and Esher having a worse record. Bracknell may well need to win both their remaining matches to be sure of National Two rugby next season   

 

Bracknell were 22-15 winners when the sides met early in the season.

  

Prediction:  Wharfedale to win by six points.
