Terrace Talk National Three South

NATIONAL THREE SOUTH

Bridgwater & Albion v Dings Crusaders

South West derby as Bridgwater & Albion entertain sixth placed Dings Crusaders at College Way.

Bridgwater are one of the form sides in the division with four wins in their last six matches including an away win at bottom of the table Bracknell last Saturday where they kept a clean sheet.

At home they have a poor record with two wins form their four matches over Reading and Southend.

Dings returned to winning ways last Saturday at home to Westcombe Park to end a three match run without a victory.

On the road the Crusaders have lost all five matches but picked up losing bonus points in two of them.

PREDICTION: Home success by eight points.

Cambridge v Bracknell

Second placed Cambridge entertain bottom of the table Bracknell this week looking to keep the pressure on the leaders who have a tough match at Rosslyn Park.

Cambridge were comprehensive winners over Old Patesians after turning in a powerful performance scoring 52 points.

At home this season they have won all six matches to date giving up two losing bonus points.

Bracknell are nine points adrift at the bottom of the table and will not fancy the trip to Cambridge. On the road they have lost all six of their matches on the road this season and picked up two losing bonus points in those defeats.

PREDICTION: Comfortable home win.

Cinderford v Hertford

10th placed Hertford travel to 9th placed Cinderford looking t return to winning ways against an in form side.

Cinderford have picked up four successive wins to climb the table and with home advantage on Saturday will be quietly confident of making it five. At home this season they have won three out of five but were heavily beaten by North Walsham and Southend.

Hertford will be looking to avoid a third successive defeat on Saturday. On the road this season they have picked up two away wins in their four winning at Bridgwater and Old Patesians. Having beaten leaders North Walsham at home 5-3 to them go and ship 48 points to Southend does not add up!!

PREDICTION: Home win for Cinderford by eight points.

Reading v Old Patesians

Two sides meet at Holme Park in need of points as 12th placed Reading entertain 13th placed Old Patesians.

Reading have done well at home winning four out of five with only Westcombe Park leaving Holme Park with a win. Those are their only wins as away they have failed to win as of yet. Reading need to win to try and close the five point gap on the sides above them just out of the relegation zone.

Old Patesians are looking to avoid a sixth consecutive defeat this Saturday at Reading. On the road this season they have lost four out of five with their only win coming at bottom of the table Bracknell.

Old Patesians were 33-19 winners in this fixture last season but Reading were 34-21 winners at Everest Road as it was honours even.

PREDICTION: Home win by nine points. .

Rosslyn Park v North Walsham

Leaders Rosslyn Park face what could be a tricky match away at fourth placed Rosslyn Park.

Rosslyn Park were disappointed not to have got something from the away trip to Lydney last week and will need to be on their game to take anything out of this match. At home they have done well this season and are unbeaten winning all four matches.

North Walsham must win this match after some indifferent away form of late losing at Hertford and Havant before returning to winning ways at Old Patesians, after trailing 17-6 at one stage, last time out on the road.

PREDICTION: Away win by five points.

Southend v Lydney

Southend up into third place in the National Three South League table entertain fifth placed Lydney at Warners Bridge looking maintain their excellent recent form.

Southend are third in the form guide with four wins and a draw in their last six matches. Last Saturday they were emphatic winners at Hertford scoring 48 points.

At home this season they have an unbeaten record winning four out of four including wins over Rosslyn Park and Havant who they are a point clear of in the table.

Lydney were winners last Saturday at home to Rosslyn Park 13-3 as they looked to improve on a poor run of four defeats in five matches. On the road this season there form has been poor with just one win in five matches and that was at bottom of the table Bracknell.

What Lydney would give to repeat last seasons win at Southend, 28-14 as they did the double with a 28-10 win at Regentsholme as well.

PREDICTION: Home win by eight points.

Westcombe Park v Havant

Sixth placed Havant travel to 11th placed Westcombe Park to try and kick start their season which has fell of the pace in the last few weeks.

Combe have won four out of five at Goddington Dene this season with only Rosslyn Park leaving with the win.

Although down in 11th place in the table they are within five points of third spot where three sides are tied on 29 points.

Havant were doing really well but are at the wrong end of the form guide with just two wins in their last four matches and they have had five points docked as well.

On the road this season they have won just once in five trips when winning at Hertford 27-21.

This was a high scoring match last season which went down to the wire with Combe just edging it 36-35. At Hooks Lane Havant ran out comfortable winners36-12.

PREDICTION: Combe to win by four. .
