Terrace Talk - National Three South

Check out our weekly previews and predictions ahead of the weekend action.

NATIONAL THREE SOUTH

Bracknell v Hertford

Bottom of the table Bracknell take on 9th placed Hertford with both sides in need of a win.

Bracknell still have just the one win all season and are eight points a drift at the bottom of the table and 20 from safety but if the league are made up to 16 team leagues next season they may well be saved.

Hertford are probably still shell shocked after getting blown away in the second half at home last week at the hands of Bridgwater & Albion after leading at half time. They have now lost three of their last four matches to slip down the league table.

When these sides met earlier in the season it was a tight affair with Hertford coming out on top 20-15.

PREDICTION: Hertford to take the points with nine point win .

Bridgwater & Albion v Lydney

Bridgwater & Albion are up to third now and play host to sixth placed Lydney looking to maintain that position.

Albion are looking for a fourth consecutive win to keep at the had of the chasing back where five sides are bunched up with just two points separating them. They have played just five times at home this season and have won three but lost twice to North Walsham and Hertford.

Lydney good recent form with three wins and a draw in their last five matches including a home win over Westcombe Park last Saturday. .

On the road this season Lydney have played six times losing four getting a draw at Southend and winning at Bracknell.

When these two met early in the season at Regentsholme Lydney came out on top winning 30-8.

PREDICTION: Bridgwater to continue good form with eight point win.

Cinderford v Old Patesians

11th placed Cinderford play host to second bottom Old Patesians.

Cinderford are at the right end of the Form Guide and seem to have found their feet in the National Leagues although they have suffered back to back defeats although the last of those was away at North Walsham.

At home they have played six matches winning three and losing three.

.

Old Patesians are at the wrong end of the Form Guide with no wins in their last six matches including a narrow 17-16 defeat last Saturday at home to Southend.

On the road this season they have played six times losing five but managing a narrow win at Bracknell.

.

Cinderford were winners when the sides met at Everest Road earlier in the season in a closely fought match edging it 16-13.

PREDICTION: Cinderford to take the honours with eight point home win.

Dings Crusaders v Havant

10th play Dings Crusaders are at home this Saturday to seventh placed Havant looking to return to winning ways.

Dings are at the wrong end of the Form Guide sitting in 12th place with just one win and a draw in their last four matches. Last Saturday they were beaten by top of the table Cambridge 31-0 away from home. At home this season they have played seven matches winning five on them, the only defeat was at the hands of Cambridge and they drew the other match22 all against Southend.

Havant stopped a three match losing run last Saturday with a comfortable home success over Bracknell. On the road this season they have a poor record winning just once in six matches when they triumphed 27-21 at Hertford.

Havant were 18-11 winners at Hooks Lane when they met Dings Crusaders earlier in the season.

PREDICTION: Another tough call but go Havant by three points.

Rosslyn Park v Cambridge

Leaders Cambridge have a tough trip to fourth placed Rosslyn Park this Saturday as they look to maintain top spot in the division.

Rosslyn Park have recovered after a bad start to the season but have so far relied on their home form. They have done well recently with three wins in their last four matches. At home this season they have played just five times but won all five matches.

Leaders Cambridge are looking for a fifth straight league win this Saturday. On the road this season they have slipped up twice in six matches losing at North Walsham and Havant.

This game went down to the wire earlier in the season with Cambridge just coming through 24-23.

PREDICTION: Tough call but will go Cambridge by five points.

Southend v Reading

Fifth placed Southend are at home this Saturday to 12th placed Reading looking to maintain their excellent recent form. .

Southend are unbeaten in their last six matches and sit second in the Form Guide to leaders Cambridge. In their last six matches they have recorded four wins and two draws. At home this season they have an unbeaten record with four wins and a draw with Lydney sharing the spoils with them 8 all.

Reading are in 12th place well in touch with the four sides above them ion the league table but all their form this season has been at home and not on the road. Away from Holme Park they have managed to lose all seven of their matches to date this season.

When the sides met at Holme Park earlier in the season Reading were 33-17 winners.

PREDICTION: Southend to take the win by 10 points.

Westcombe Park v North Walsham

Westcombe Park entertain second placed North Walsham not knowing which North Walsham will turn up. They have put in some bad away performances this season and you don’t know which North Walsham is going to turn up!!.

Westcombe Park have picked up most of their points at home this season with five wins form their six matches and only Rosslyn Park leaving Goddington Dene with a win this season.

North Walsham have won five of their last six matches in the league and will be keen to get their away form going again. On the road they have lost three of their six matches going down to losses at Dings Crusaders, Hertford and Rosslyn Park.

When the sides met at Scottow earlier in the season North Walsham were 43-17 winners.

PREDICTION: Away win by five points, I think!!.
