Terrace Talk - National Two

Check out our weekend previews and predictions.

NATIONAL TWO

Henley Hawks v Launceston

Fifth placed Launceston travel to ninth placed Henley Hawks knowing a win with a bonus point would see them move above Barking into fourth place.

Henley Hawks are at the wrong end of the Form Guide after suffering their fifth successive defeat last Saturday when going down 23-13 at Redruth.

In eight matches at Dry Leas this season they have managed just three wins and gone down to five defeats.

Launceston saw their four match winning run come to an end last Saturday at Waterloo but they gave the leaders a run for their money before going down 43-31.

In eight away matches this season the Cornish All Blacks have picked up three wins and a draw.

PREDICTION: Launceston to win at Dry Leas by 8 points.

Orrell v Moseley

Second placed Moseley travel to Edge Hall Road knowing a win over bottom of the table Orrell will take them to the top of the National Two league table but with it looking tight at the top of the table I am sure they will be looking for the four try bonus point as well.

Orrell have slipped to the bottom of the table and now find themselves adrift by seven points after Harrogate’s two match winning run. They have now lost seven since beating Barking back in early November.

At home this season they have played eight times managing three wins with the best being against Barking.

Moseley are looking to make it five in a row and top the table with a win here and were last beaten away at Launceston just before Christmas.

Moseley have played seven matches away from home this season and come unstuck twice, at Esher and Launceston.

PREDICTION:  Moseley to win at Edge Hall Road by 15 points.

Redruth v Manchester

Sixth placed Redruth entertain eighth placed Manchester looking to try and close the gap on the Cornish rival Launceston who they trail by a point.

Redruth have won three of their last four matches to move up the National Two league table.

They have an excellent home record this season losing just once in eight matches when they went down to a 25-19 defeat at the hands of Moseley.

Manchester have won just one of their last four league matches and are five points behind the Cornish sides in the league table.

On their travels this season they played eight matches managing just two wins at Orrell and Stourbridge.

PREDICTION:  Redruth to win by 10 points.

Esher v Blackheath

Third placed Esher are at home to 11th placed Blackheath looking to pick up all five points and move above leaders Waterloo in the league table.

Esher are back on track after suffering back to back defeats they have put together a three match winning run.

At home this season they have won all seven of their matches and passed the 40 point mark in four of those wins.

Blackheath were winners last Saturday at home to Manchester as they ended a three match losing run and moved out of the bottom three above Halifax.

They have a poor record with just one away win in eight matches this season and that was their first away at Orrell since then they have lost seven on the bounce.

PREDICTION: Esher to win by 12 points.
