NATIONAL ONE

Coventry v Pertemps Bees

Eighth placed Coventry entertain 11th placed Pertemps Bees at the Butts Arena with both sides looking to make it three wins in a row.

After a bad run of defeats Coventry have won their last two and would hope with home advantage to make it three in a row. In nine matches at the Butts Arena this season they have a poor record with just three wins.

The Bees are also going for a hat trick of wins after a poor losing run and will see this as a good opportunity with Coventry having a poor home record this season.

On the road though the Bees have played nine times this season winning just once, at Otley, and getting a draw against bottom side Sedgley Park, they have lost the other seven.

When the sides met at Sharmans Cross Road earlier in the season the Bees came out on top with a 29-7 victory.

PREDICTION: Coventry to win at the Butts Arena by eight points.

Exeter Chiefs v Earth Titans

Sixth placed Exeter Chiefs are at home to fourth placed Earth Titans as they look to maintain their improved form of late.

Exeter Chiefs are another side looking to make it three in a row with a home win this Saturday. At home this season they have won five out of their eight matches. They were excellent winners last time out at the Cornish Pirates and will hope to build on that result.

The Titans are near the top of the Form Guide with five wins in their last six matches which has seen the climb up to fourth spot in the table.

On the road they have played eight matches winning five on them which is a good record.

When the sides met at Clifton Lane earlier in the season it was the Titans who ran out winners 17-10.

PREDICTION: Tough call will go with narrow home by five for the Chiefs.

London Welsh v Nottingham

Second bottom London Welsh entertain seventh placed Nottingham looking for a home win to try and get them out of the relegation zone.

The Welsh did manage back to back wins not so long ago but since then have suffered successive defeats and would hope to end that run in Saturday with home advantage. At Old Deer Park this season they have played nine matches picking up four wins and a draw along the way.

Nottingham after a three match winning run have slipped to back to back defeats and will see this as a good opportunity to return to wining ways although they will need to improve their away form.

On the road this season they have managed to pick up just one win in eight matches when they defeated Sedgley Park 29-12 very early in the season.

When the sides met at Nottingham it was the home side who came out on top 22-16 in one of only two matches on the road where the Welsh have picked up points.

PREDICTION:  The Welsh to win at Old Deer Park by seven points. .

Newbury v Plymouth Albion

Ninth placed Newbury entertain fourth placed Plymouth Albion at Monks Lane this Saturday.

Newbury are at the wrong end of the Form Guide with just one win in their last six matches and are looking to avoid a fifth consecutive defeat.

At home this season they managed five wins in nine matches and been involved in some high scoring games.

Plymouth Albion after suffering a couple of defeats have found their winning form again with three wins in their last four matches as they look to try and regain fourth spot in the table from Earth Titans. On the road in eight matches so far this season they have an even record with four wins and four defeats.

Newbury were winners at Brickfields earlier in the season coming through 52-41 in a high scoring match.

PREDICTION: Albion to win by six at Monks Lane.

Sedgley Park v Otley

Bottom of the table Sedgley Park entertain 10th placed Otley needing to secure some home wins to try and climb away from the bottom of the table.

Park need to start putting some results on the board and will see this as the starting point against an out of sorts Otley side. At Park Lane this season they have only played seven times picking up two wins and a draw along the way.

Otley returned to winning ways last time out after suffering a poor run of form with four successive defeats and find themselves within seven points of a relegation spot.

On the road this season they have in eight matches they have managed to pick up just two wins at Exeter Chiefs and London Welsh.

When the sides met a Cross Green Otley came out on top but only just with Park pushing them all the way before going down 33-27.

PREDICTION:  Park to sneak much needed win by five points at home to Otley.

Cornish Pirates v Bedford Blues

When these two sides met earlier in the season it was the Blues who triumphed at Goldington Road coming through 31-12 winners.

The Pirates have suffered back to back defeats to slip nine points behind second placed Bedford Blues in the league table so a win here would pull back some of those points.  At home this season they were unbeaten till last time out when they lost out to Exeter Chiefs after seven successive wins.

The Blues are an excellent recent run and top the Form Guide with Quins with six wins out of six. After Quins they have the best scoring record and best defensive record and picked up 11 four try bonus points one fewer than Quins. .

On the road this season they have won six out of eight, losing at Plymouth Albion and drawing at Otley.

PREDICTION:  Tough call but will have to go Pirates with home advantage by six points but could go either way.

Doncaster v NEC Harlequins

Leaders NEC Harlequins are going for an 18th consecutive win with a trip to 12th placed Doncaster.

Third bottom Doncaster are in need of points but this in probably not the match to start getting them in. After a two match winning run they have suffered four successive defeats and are just a point ahead of second bottom London Welsh. At home this season they have done well with five wins in eight matches.

Leaders Harlequins will be looking to make it 10 out of 10 on the road with a win at Doncaster and have just three road trips after this, London Welsh, Exeter Chiefs and the Cornish Pirates. They go into the match averaging just under 38 points a match in attack and conceding an average of just under 13 a match.

When the sides met at the Stoop Doncaster held the Quins to 27-7 which is their lowest score in a home match this season.

PREDICTION: Quins to do the double over Doncaster with 14 point win. .
