In at the Corner - Powergen North One

Morley 13 (Try: Dadswell. Con: Murphy. DG: Stephens 2.).

West Park St Helens 12 (Tries: Briers, Turner. Con: Soutar.).

The big match of the day went the way of Morley who now have a six point lead at the top of the Powergen North One league table.

Morley were in front in the 12th minute when scrum half Sean Dadswell went over and Peter Murphy converted in what was the only score of the first half.

West Park were level in the 53rd minute when their prolific centre Stephen Briers went in for yet another try and Andrew Soutar converted.

In the final ten minutes replacement Colin Stephens dropped a couple of goals to make it 13-7 after 75 minutes.

Park were not finished though and got a second try on 80 minutes from full back Mark Turner but Soutar could not add the conversion to sneak the win and close the gap on Morley to two points.

.

Longton 13 (Try: Gabriel. Con: Wheat. Pens: Wheat 2.).

Birkenhead Park 3 (Pen: Davis.).

Just what Longton needed as they try and get out of the bottom three, they are now two points behind Caldy in the table but have three games in hand on them.

Park were first on the scoreboard when Alex Davis put over a 6th minute penalty goal but the home side drew level in the 28th minute when full back Tony Wheat put over his first attempt of the afternoon in what was the final score of the half.

Wheat added a second early in the second half before they went over for the games only try.

It came in the 71st minute when scrum half James Gabriel went in and Wheat added the conversion and three very important points were in the bag.

Huddersfield 22 (Try: Shaw. Con: Grayshon. Pens: Grayshon 5.).

Chester 13 (Try: Brooks. Con: Bebbington. Pens: Bebbington 2.).

Chester were in front at the break leading 6-3 thanks to two Mike Bebbington penalty goals whilst Jamie Grayshon put one over for the home side.

Three more Grayshon penalties in the first 12 minutes of the second half to go into a 12-6 lead.

In the 65th minute they went 19-6 ahead when full back Alex Shaw went over the Chester line and Grayshon converted.

In the 72nd minute they visitors were back in it when left wing Ian Brookes went in and Bebbington converted to make it 19-13 for the home side.

Grayshon sealed the win with his fifth penalty goal on 80 minutes but with three matches remaining they are three points off a play off spot.
