Terrace Talk - National Two

Barking v Halifax

Fifth placed Barking are looking for the home win over ninth placed Halifax to try and keep in touch with fourth placed Launceston.

Barking have lost three of their last four and will want to get back to winning ways and challenge Launceston for fourth place in the table.

At home this season they have played 11 matches and managed seven wins and lost four times.

Halifax are looking to make it three wins in their last four with victory at Barking as they look to continue their climb up the table.

On the road in ten matches this season they have a poor record with just one win and a draw on the credit side.

Barking are looking to do the double over Halifax having already won the away fixture between the two sides earlier in the season 29-14.

PREDICTION: Home win by eight points.

Blackheath v Esher

Third placed Esher know this is another must win game as they travel to 11th placed Blackheath.

Blackheath after three wins in four matches have slipped to back to back defeats but with just one side going down now this season are 11 points ahead of bottom side Orrell so just another win could well guarantee them National Two rugby next season.

At the Rectory Field this season they have five wins form their ten matches.

Esher know they cannot afford to slip up and need the victory and probably the bonus point to keep the pressure on second placed Waterloo.

On the road this season they have played 11 times and picked up seven wins, losing three times and drawing once at Waterloo.

Esher were comfortable home winners over Blackheath earlier in the season with a 40-7 victory.

PREDICTION: Esher away win by ten points.

Launceston v Henley Hawks

Fourth placed Launceston entertain 10th placed Henley Hawks looking to keep their four point lead over fifth placed Barking.

Launceston after a three match winning run have slipped in their last two games going down to a defeat at home to struggling Harrogate and then they drew in the Cornish derby last Saturday at Redruth.

Henley Hawks are looking to avoid a third successive defeat after they had put together back to back wins.

On the road this season the Hawks have played ten matches and picked up three wins along the way at Barking, Harrogate and Orrell.

Launceston were narrow 22-18 winners at Dry Leas earlier in the season.

PREDICTION: Home win by the Cornish All Blacks by nine points.

Manchester v Redruth

Eighth placed Manchester host seventh placed Redruth looking for the win to move above them in the table. .

Manchester are at the wrong end of the Form Guide with just one win in their last six matches but a win here could see them move back into the top half of the league table.

At home this season they have played ten times and have six wins and a draw under their belt.

Redruth have not won in three now as they stopped a two match losing run when they drew at home to Launceston last Saturday.

On the road they have played ten times and managed just two wins, at Henley Hawks and Stourbridge.

Manchester were away winners at Redruth earlier in the season with an 18-14 win as they look to do the double over the Cornish side.

PREDICTION: Home win by seven points.

Moseley v Orrell

Leaders Moseley are looking to maintain their five point lead at the top of the table as they entertain bottom of the table Orrell.

Leaders Moseley need three more wins to guarantee promotion to National One as they look for a tenth successive win in the league.

At home this season they have won all 11 matches with only Henley and Waterloo leaving with losing bonus points.

Orrell need to find at least a couple of wins in their last five matches to have a chance of survival in National Two but this is probably not one of the matches where they can realistically get one of them.

On the road they have lost all ten matches and picked up just two losing bonus points at Henley and Redruth.

Moseley are looking for the double over Orrell having won 37-22 at Edge Hall Road earlier in the season.

PREDICTION: Moseley to win by 20 points.

Stourbridge v Harrogate

Third bottom Stourbridge take on second bottom Harrogate knowing a win will virtually see them safe for another season of National Two rugby.

Stourbridge are bottom of the Form Guide with just one win in their last six matches but with just one side now going down this season they hold an 11 point lead over bottom of the table Orrell who would need to win at least four of their last five matches to catch them.

Stourbridge in ten home matches this season have managed just two wins and a draw.

Harrogate are at the right end of the Form Guide with three wins and a draw in their last six matches and know a win here would be a huge step to guaranteeing them survival in National Two.

On the road they have they have won twice recently which are their only away wins this season in ten matches.

Stourbridge were away winners at Claro Road earlier in the season winning 25-18.

PREDICTION: Tough call this one but will go with Harrogate by five points.

Waterloo v Wharfedale

Second placed Waterloo entertain sixth placed Wharfedale knowing they need to keep on winning and maintain their six point lead over third placed Esher in the fight for a promotion place.

Waterloo are looking for a sixth consecutive win as they look to hold off Esher for second spot and National One rugby next season.

They have a good home record with just the one defeat against top of the table Moseley, and a draw, against third placed Esher, from their 11 matches.

Wharfedale are looking to make it back to back wins and three in four after a three match losing streak not so long ago.

On the road they have a poor record with just three wins and a draw from their 11 matches this season.

The fixture between these two sides at Threshfields earlier in the season ended a 21 all draw.

PREDICTION: Waterloo to win at home by seven points.
