Terrace Talk - National Three South

 

Bracknell v Westcombe Park

 

Bottom of the table Bracknell entertain fourth placed Westcombe Park knowing if they do not win they are relegated regardless of any other results.  

 

Bracknell have a tough task against an in form Westcombe Park side with just one win in their last 20 matches. They have managed two wins at home now beating Havant and more recently Reading.

 

Combe are looking for a hat trick of win and four in the last five as they challenge for third spot with Lydney and Rosslyn Park.  

On the road they have played 11 matches and picked up five wins along the way.

 

Combe were 26-17 winners when the sides met at Goddington Dene earlier in the season.  

 

PREDICTION: Combe to win by 15 points.        

 

 

Bridgwater & Albion v Cambridge

 

Leaders Cambridge travel to the West Country to take on seventh placed Bridgwater & Albion as they look to retain top spot which they hold on points difference and most wins over North Walsham.  

 

Bridgwater & Albion have slipped lately with four defeats in their last five matches to slip down the table after climbing to third at one stage this season.

At home in ten matches they have not had the greatest of records with five wins and five defeats.  

 

Leaders Cambridge go to Bridgwater & Albion looking to keep North Walsham at bay by taking all five points on offer otherwise they could lose top spot.  

On the road this season they have slipped to two defeats in 10 matches going down at North Walsham and Havant.  

 

When the sides met a Cambridge earlier in the season it went down to the wire with the home side just edging it 21-20.  

 

 

PREDICTION: Cambridge to win by 14 points.        

 

 

Dings Crusaders v Cinderford

 

Ninth placed Dings Crusaders take on 11th placed Cinderford at Lockleaze looking to try and move up the table and beat their highest ever finish in the table. .

 

Dings after a three match winning run went down to a defeat last time out going down at Southend 45-28 last Saturday.

At home this season they have a good record in their 11 matches they have won eight and drawn one suffering just two defeats.

 

Cinderford returned to winning ways last time out to end a three match losing run with a win over Bracknell 16-7.  

At home this season they have played 11 matches winning just four times.

 

When the sides met at Cinderford earlier in the season the home side came out winners 31-19.

 

PREDICTION: Dings to win by 12 points.        

 

 

Havant v Southend

 

Eighth placed Havant entertain sixth placed Southend knowing they can overhaul Bridgwater who have a tough home match against the leaders.  

 

Havant are looking to make it a hat trick of wins as they bounce back from three successive defeats.

At Hooks Lane they have a good record with eight wins in 11 matches.

 

Southend are one of the Form sides in the division with four successive wins only North Walsham have a better run at present.

On the road this season they have three wins and a draw from their 11 matches.

 

When these two sides met earlier in the season it was a high scoring match which went down to the wire with Southend just taking it 40-36.

 

PREDICTION: .Southend to sneak it with four point win      

 

 

Hertford v Rosslyn Park

 

Tenth placed Hertford entertain fifth placed Rosslyn Park at Highfields   

 

Hertford are at the wrong end of the Form Guide with just one win in their last six matches.

At home this season they have a won six out of 11 matches including a win over joint top North Walsham.

 

Park are looking to arrest a run of two defeats after putting together a six match winning run to climb to third in the table.  

On the road a reasonable record with five wins and six defeats from their 11 matches.

 

When the sides met earlier in the season the win went to Park 18-10.

 

PREDICTION: Park to win by six points.      

 

 

Lydney v Reading

 

Third placed Lydney entertain 12th placed Reading looking to hold off Westcombe Park and Rosslyn Park in the battle for third spot in the table.

 

In the Form Guide Lydney are fifth with four wins in their last six matches and returned to winning ways last time out when they won at Old Patesians after suffering back to back wins against the top two.

Lydney are looking to consolidate third place with a 10th home win from 12 matches this season.

 

Reading are looking to make it back to back wins after winning last time out against Hertford at Holme Park.

On the road this season they have a terrible record with 11 straight defeats.

 

Reading were 18-15 winners when the sides met at Holme Park earlier in the season.

 

PREDICTION: Lydney to win by nine points.      

 

 

North Walsham v Old Patesians

 

Second placed North Walsham entertain second bottom Old Patesians looking for the win and the bonus point to keep the pressure on Cambridge who could have a tough match at Bridgwater & Albion.    

 

North Walsham top the Form Guide with six wins on the bounce.

They know they have to pick up all five points in this match and with Cambridge having a tough match at Bridgwater they could find themselves top of the table by the end of the day.

They will be keen to maintain their 100% record and pick up another four try bonus point at Scottow.

 

In the Form Guide Old Patesians are at the wrong end of the table and are looking to avoid a third straight defeat.  

Old Patesians have played ten times on the road this season and managed just the two wins at Bracknell and Cinderford.  

 

North Walsham were 27-17 when the sides met at Everest Road earlier in the season.  

 

PREDICTION: Home win by 15 points.
