Blaydon v Hull Ionians

 

Third placed Blaydon are at home to eighth placed Hull Ionians looking to get back to winning ways.

 

Blaydon lie in second spot two points ahead of Nuneaton, who beat them last Saturday, but the Midlands side have two games in hand on them.   

With home advantage they will be pumped up to return to winning ways against an out of form Hull Ionians.

At Crow Trees they have won nine out of ten with only Bradford & Bingley leaving with a win this season.

 

Ionians were beaten at home last Saturday by Cleckheaton and failed to take advantage of Fylde’s draw away at Kendal to move back into the top half of the table.

They have lost four of their last five matches but will be hard pushed to stop the rot in this match.

  

Ionians were winners when the sides met earlier in the season with a 28-16 victory.

 

PREDICTION: Blaydon to win by 16 points.      

 

 

Bradford & Bingley v Preston Grasshoppers

 

Leaders Bradford & Bingley take on fourth placed Preston Grasshoppers looking to maintain their lead at the top of the table.

 

Bradford & Bingley are in the driving seat at the moment with a six point lead at the top of the table and have the title in their own hands.

At Wagon Lane this season they have won 11 out of 11 with nobody leaving with a losing bonus point.

 

Hoppers returned to winning ways last week after a two match losing run with an excellent win over Tynedale.

They have four wins and two draws on the road from their 11 matches to date this season.  

 

The Bees were winners at Lightfoot Green earlier in the season when they came away with a 55-34 win.  

 

PREDICTION: Bees to win by 16 points.      

 

 

Cleckheaton v Darlington

 

Tenth placed Cleckheaton, take on sixth placed Darlington looking to maintain their improved form of late.

 

Cleckheaton have shown good form in recent weeks with four wins in their last five matches to climb the table.

At home they have only picked up four wins in ten matches and have won more matches away from Moorend this season.

 

Darlington are at the right end of the form guide with five wins in their last six matches and have won their last three and they look for a fourth consecutive win.

On the road they have three wins and a draw form their ten matches.

Darlington were 33-3 winners when the sides met at Blackwell Meadows earlier in the season.  

 

PREDICTION: Tough call but go Cleckheaton to win by nine points.      

 

 

Darlington Mowden Park v Nuneaton

 

Darlington Mowden Park, up to ninth place in the table now, entertain third placed Nuneaton who know they have to win this match as they look for a top two finish.

 

DMP have moved up the table in recent weeks and are up in fifth place in the Form Guide.  

At home this season they have picked up five wins and a draw in 11 matches.

 

Nuneaton know this is a must win match for them as they chase down the top two. They are just two points behind Blaydon with two games in hand but the Bees have got a little breathing space now and lead the Nuns by seven with just one game in hand.

 

Nuneaton were 32-5 winners when the sides met at Liberty Way earlier in the season.

 

PREDICTION: Nuneaton to win by ten points.      

 

 

Fylde v New Brighton

 

Seventh placed Fylde entertain second bottom New Brighton looking to return to winning ways.

 

Fylde came back from a 22-3 deficit last weekend to force a draw at Kendal and have two wins and a draw in their last four matches.

At Woodlands this season they have won seven out of 11 matches.  

 

New Brighton are bottom of the Form Guide with six defeats in their last six matches.

On the road they have yet to win losing all 11 matches.  

 

Fylde were 27-8 winners over New Brighton when the sides met earlier in the season at Reeds Lane.  

 

PREDICTION: Fylde to win by 11 points.      

 

 

Macclesfield v Kendal

 

12th placed Macclesfield are at home to bottom of the table Kendal

 

Macclesfield have shown some improved form of late with two wins and a draw in their last four matches and were disappointed not to come away from Leicester Lions with only a draw last Saturday.

 

Kendal were buoyed up last weekend when they stopped their 21 match losing run with a 22 all draw at home to Fylde as they picked up their first points of the season. .

 

Macclesfield were comfortable winners when these two sides met at Mint Bridge earlier in the season, 40-3.

 

PREDICTION:  Macclesfield to win by 12 points.      

 

 

Tynedale v Leicester Lions

 

Fifth placed Tynedale are at home to 11th placed Leicester Lions looking to return to winning ways.

 

Tynedale were disappointed to lose late on at Hoppers last week and will be keen to return to winning ways.  

At home they have an excellent record with eight wins in nine matches and only Darlington Mowden Park have left with a win so far this season.

 

 

Leicester Lions have two wins and a draw in their last five matches to show some improved form after going through a bad spell.

On the road they have managed to pick up for wins already this season from their ten away trips.

 

Earlier in the season Tynedale were narrow 23-19 winners over Leicester Lions at Westleigh Park.  

 

PREDICTION: Tynedale to win by 14 points.
