Coventry v Nottingham

 

Ninth placed Coventry entertain sixth placed Nottingham knowing a win could move them into the top half of the table.

 

Coventry were beaten last Saturday at London Welsh and have now lost three of their last four matches to slip down the table.

In 11 matches at the Butt Arena this season they have managed just five wins.

 

Nottingham have moved into the top half of the table and are at the right end of the Form Guide with four straight wins.

On the road, Nottingham have still only managed two wins in 10 matches winning at Bedford Blues and Sedgley Park.

.   

Coventry were narrow winners when the sides met earlier in the season 27-26.

 

PREDICTION: Nottingham by four points.      

 

Exeter Chiefs v Bedford Blues

 

Second placed Bedford Blues travel to seventh placed Exeter Chiefs looking for a hat trick of wins over the Devon side this season.  

 

The Chiefs after three wins in four including the only defeat of Harlequins this season have slipped to back to back defeats with losses on the road at Nottingham and Sedgley Park in recent weeks.

The Chiefs have won seven out of ten at the County Ground this season and have three of their final four matches there this season.

 

The Blues after two defeats in three are looking to make it four wins in five and make Harlequins wait another week before they can be crowned Champions.  

In 11 matches on the road they have eight wins and a draw losing just twice along the way.

 

Bedford Blues are looking for the double after winning 28-13 at Goldington Road earlier in the season and have already won at the County Ground this season knocking the Chiefs out of the Powergen National Trophy in the semi finals.

 

PREDICTION: Blues to make it three out of three win four point win.      

 

 

NEC Harlequins v Sedgley Park

 

Leaders NEC Harlequins entertain Sedgley Park who moved off the bottom of the table last weekend.

 

Quins are looking to keep on winning and could be Champions if they win and Bedford come unstuck at Exeter Chiefs.

Quins are looking to maintain their 100% record at home with ten out of ten to date so far this season.

 

Park have now had back to back home wins over the Cornish Pirates and Exeter Chiefs to finally move off the bottom of the table and have two wins and a draw in their last four matches.  

 

Quins have already won twice at Park Lane this season beating Park 29-22 in the league and knocking them out of the Powergen National Trophy.  

 

PREDICTION: Comfortable Quins wins over an improving Park side. .      

 

 

Newbury v Doncaster

 

12th placed Doncaster travel to 11th placed Newbury knowing a win could see them move above the Berkshire side in the league table.

 

Newbury are bottom of the Form Guide at present with just a win and a draw in their last six matches.

At Monks Lane this season they have won six of their 11 fixtures.

 

Doncaster are looking to make it four on the bounce after some good recent form including an excellent home win over the Earth Titans last Sunday.

On the road is where Doncaster have struggled this season as they still have to win a match suffering nine defeats and a draw at London Welsh in their ten away day games.

 

Doncaster are looking to do the double over Newbury having already beaten them 26-16 at home earlier in the season.  

 

PREDICTION: Tough call this but will go with home advantage by six points. .      

 

 

Otley v Cornish Pirates  

 

Eighth placed Otley entertain third placed Cornish Pirates looking to climb in the top half of the table which could happen if the results go their way.  

 

Otley are up at the right end of the Form Guide as they look to make it three wins in a row and five out of seven.

At home they have five wins and a draw from their 11 matches.

 

The Pirates are down at the wrong end of the Form Guide with just two wins in their last six matches as they look to avoid a hat trick of defeats.

On the road this season they have won six out of 11 matches

 

When the sides met earlier in the season in Cornwall the Pirates were 39-22 winners.

 

PREDICTION: Pirates to win by seven points.        

 

 

Plymouth Albion v London Welsh

 

Fourth placed Plymouth Albion are at home to 10th placed London Welsh looking to keep ahead of the Earth Titans who trail them by two points in the table.

 

Albion were defeated at Bedford Blues last Saturday but came away with a couple of bonus points as they slipped to successive defeat in the league.

At Brickfields this season they have a good record with eight wins in 11 matches.

 

The Welsh were home winners last Saturday against Coventry to return to winning ways and make it four wins in their last five.

They have a terrible record on the road going down to nine defeats in ten matches with the only win coming at Otley not to long ago 28-25.

 

Plymouth Albion are looking to do the double over the Welsh having already won 29-18 at Old Deer Park earlier in the season.

 

PREDICTION: Albion to win by seven points.        

 

 

Earth Titans v Pertemps Bees

 

Fifth placed Earth Titans entertain bottom of the table Pertemps Bees looking to try and close the two point gap between them and fourth placed Plymouth Albion.

 

The Titans were narrowly defeated in a Yorkshire derby last Sunday at Doncaster.

At Clifton Lane this season the Titans have been in good form with eight wins out of ten and only Harlequins and Bedford Blues leaving with victories.

 

The Bees were beaten at home by Otley last Saturday and slipped to the bottom of the table with Sedgley Park winning at home to Exeter Chiefs as they went down to their third straight defeat.

On the road the Bees have been poor with just one win and a draw from their 11 matches.  

 

The Titans are looking to do the double over the Pertemps Bees having won narrowly at Sharmans Cross Road earlier in the season 27-26.  

 

PREDICTION: Titans to win by 12 points.
