Tynedale held leaders Bradford & Bingley to a draw at Tynedale Park but in the end were disappointed not to get the win after leading 22-7 at one stage.
The visitors were first on the scoreboard when Stephanus Jacobsz went over in the 4th minute and Tom Rhodes converted for 7-0.
A minute later Phil Belgian slotted over a penalty goal to get them off the mark. It was not till near the end of the match that we had the next score as the home side finished the half the better with two tries in six minutes to go into a 17-7 lead.
The tries came from Belgian and right wing Cameron Johnston with Belgian converting them both.
When they went 22-7 ahead in the second minute of the 2nd half they must have thought they were on their way to a victory.
The Bees responded really well with centre Stuart Dixon going over on 50 minutes and Rhodes converted. Six minutes later wing Mark Kirkby went over for his 11th try of the season and it was all squared on 62 minutes when Rhodes dropped a goal to set up a tense last 20 minutes in which there were no further scores.

Comfortable away win for Macclesfield at already relegated New Brighton.
Macclesfield ran in seven tries including two in the first 14 minutes to go into a 14-0 lad with prop Scott Goodfellow and centre Anthony Howcroft with Ross Winney converting them both.
Winney put over a penalty goal and the four try bonus point was secured on the half hour mark with further tries from left wing James Boothroyd and right wing James Watts to lead 29-0 at the break.
They scored two more tries in the third quarter with through Winney and Howcroft to move 41 -0 ahead before scoring their seventh and final try in the final few minutes when flanker Nicholas Pearson went over.
Hull Ionians 22(Tries: Poskitt, Smith. Pens: Boyd 4.).
Darlington Mowden Park 12 (Tries: Wilks, Tonkin. Con: Dixon.).
Hull Ionians returned to winning ways with this home success over Darlington Mowden Park.
Glen Boyd gave the home side a 6-0 lead with a couple of penalty goals in the opening 22 minutes. But on 25 minutes the visitors went in front when replacement Tim Wilks went over the home line and Ian Dixon converted. Before the break though the home side took the lead again when centre Richard Poskitt touched down and it was 11-7 at half time.
Four minutes into the second half and the visitors were back in front when flanker Andrew Tonkin went over for an unconverted try. It took ten minutes for the home side to regain the lead with a third Boyd penalty goal. They moved seven points clear when left wing Ben Smith touched down just after the hour mark 19-12.
They wrapped up the win in the 78th minute when Boyd slotted over his fourth penalty goal of the match.
Leicester Lions 24(Tries: Ford 2, Collins, Evans. Cons: Yuill 2.).
Kendal 21 (Tries: Hill, Armstrong. Con: Park. Pens: Park 3.).
Kendal picked up their third point of the season and their first on the road with a losing bonus point at Leicester Lions. .
The Lions were first on the scoreboard when wing Daniel Ford went over for a try in the 12th minute and a 5-0 lead. It became 10-0 when the other home wing Gareth Collins went over in the 21st minute.
Chris Park pulled three points back for the visitors but the Lions took control in the final few minutes of the half. There were tries for Damian Evans and a second for Ford and with Dan Yuill converting these two it saw the home side 24-3 ahead at the break.
In the second half it took the visitors just four minutes to cross the Lions line with replacement Chris Hill going over and seven minutes later they got a second when centre Martin Armstrong touched down and Park converted to make it 24-15.
Park got Kendal nearer the Lions with penalty goals on 65 and 71 minutes and a losing bonus point but the Lions held on to take the win.

Blaydon 12 (Pens: Clappison 4.).
Blaydon closed to within four of leaders Bradford & Bingley after this away success at Darlington in a very competitive match which could have gone either way as Blaydon fail to score a try for the first time this season.
Blaydon were first on the scoreboard when Dan Clappison slotted over a penalty goal in the 6th minute and added a second in the 12th minute for a 6-0 lead.
The home side were off the mark when Craig Lee pt over a penalty goal in the 19th minute and then took the lead just before the half hour mark when wing Francis Coulson went over to make it 8-6.
Clappison then slotted over a couple of penalty goals before half time to send the home side in 12-8 ahead at the break.
In the second half full back Phil Dawson got the home side three points nearer with a penalty goal to make it 12-11 in what was the final score of the match as Blaydon picked up a win in what was a difficult match as they look to keep in the promotion race. .
Nuneaton 25 (Tries: Reed 2, Toleafoa, Parry. Cons: Cull 2.).
Fylde 10 (Try: Royle. Con: Scott. Pen: Scott.).
Excellent day for Nuneaton with this home win over Fylde and they picked up the four try bonus point to close within two points of Blaydon and six of leaders Bradford & Bingley. They have a game in hand on Bradford & Bingley and two on Blaydon as the season looks like going down to the wire.
The home side made a great start and were on the scoreboard when centre Phil Reed went over for a try and Gareth Cull converted. Flanker Ben Toleafoa went over on 13 minutes to extend the home lead at 12-0.
Mike Scott pulled three points back for Fylde when he put over a 20th minute penalty goal in what was the final score of the half.
Cull put three points on the board for Nuneaton with a 53rd minute penalty goal and three minutes later Reed completed a double to go on to 18 tries for the season and the home side were 20-3 ahead.
On the hour mark the visitors made it across the home line when in form winger Nick Royle went in for his 11th try of the season and Scott converted.
It was the home side who had the final say when they scored the all important fourth try with winger Lee Parry touching down his 12th try of the season.
