2007/08 Clubs Grand Draw

CLUBS KEEP 90% IN THE GRAND DRAW

- AND IT KICKS OFF IN JANUARY

I am delighted to tell you that in the four years the Draw has been running, the sum received by the clubs who have participated now exceeds £1 million - £1.002 to be precise!

Last year’s Grand Draw raised over £385,000 of which 90% - over £346,000 – is with the 673 clubs which took part, as tax-free donations from the Rugby Football Union Draw Society.  13 Clubs raised £2,500 or more and another 92 over £1,000.  The Highest Amount Raised was £7,550!

Can your club afford not to take part?

For clubs who did not take part last year or for new Hon. Secretaries participation involves:

              -      NO COST to your Club

              -      NO RISK to your Club

              -      MINIMAL TIME in organising ticket sales

AND     -      RECEIVE 90% of the sales value of the tickets it sells as a tax-free donation

Some clubs already organise their own draws and raffles but must first put together a prize list – never easy – and then arrange and pay for tickets to be printed before persuading members to sell them.

The benefit of this Scheme is that everything is provided – even the postage is pre-paid.

A SUPERB PRIZE LIST is being put together with over 40 prizes and a total value of over £40,000.  There are some SUPER CLUB PRIZES to be won, too

All clubs need to do is organise to sell the £1 tickets – a task made very easy with such a superb prize list.

A Starter Kit containing :-

   -   a Leaflet which tells you all about the Scheme – what to do, how to do it and when etc.

   - a Poster for your club’s notice board

   - a Returns Form – very simple and for completion at the end of the Scheme

   - a Reply Card for ordering as many books as you think you can sell and

   - a Starter Quantity of 10 books of tickets (£1 each; 5 per book) to get you going

will automatically be sent by post to the Hon. Secretary of all RFU and RFUW Member Clubs (plus Referee Societies/Federations and Constituent Bodies) week commencing 14 January 2008, so there are 4 months to sell the tickets before the Draw takes place in mid-May 2008.

Make sure your Club takes part.  If you would like to pre-register, please click here for the Response Form and fill it in - now!
