Bedford v London Welsh

Sixth placed Bedford Blues take on 14th placed London Welsh looking to get a long winning run together after a disappointing run.

Bedford Blues returned to winning ways last Saturday at home to Newbury and will be looking to make it back to back wins as they try and catch the sides above them in the table who now have at least a 10 point lead on them.

At home this season they have a good record with six wins in eight matches, drawing with Pertemps Bees and losing to Earth Titans.

London Welsh picked up just their 4th win of the season last Saturday against fellow strugglers Waterloo at Old Deer Park.

On the road this season they have won three of their eight away matches this season.

Prediction: Blues to make it two in a row with nine point win over the Welsh.

Pertemps Bees v Coventry

Eighth placed Pertemps Bees entertain ninth placed Coventry at Sharmans Cross Road looking to return to winning ways.

The Bees have slipped to three successive defeats in recent weeks after three successive wins. At home this season they have had a dreadful time losing five of their seven matches with just two wins, against Bedford Blues and Exeter Chiefs.

Coventry were disappointed to lose last week at struggling Moseley narrowly 15-14. On the road they have a terrible record with just a win and a draw in their eight road trips. They managed a draw at Exeter Chiefs and were 32-17 winners at Sedgley Park.

Prediction: Home win for the Bees by five points over Coventry.

Doncaster v Earth Titans

Second placed Doncaster take on fourth placed Earth Titans at Castle Park looking to continue their great season which saw them move into second place last week.

Doncaster top the Form Guide with six wins out off six and are just two points behind leaders Leeds Tykes. At home this season they have won seven out of eight with only the Cornish Pirates leaving with a win, 29-23.

The Earth Titans have played eight matches and have picked up six wins along the way and slipped up twice against Exeter Chiefs and Plymouth Albion.

They went down to a defeat last Saturday at home to Exeter Chiefs in one of the shock results of the season which ended a four match winning run.

Prediction:  Home win for Doncaster by four points over the Titans.

Exeter Chiefs v Newbury

Seventh placed Exeter Chiefs take on 11th placed Newbury at Sandy Park looking to build on last weeks excellent away win.

The Chiefs produced one of the results of the season when they thumped the Earth Titans 29-0 at Clifton Lane.

At home this season the Chiefs have played eight times and won five times with Coventry leaving with a 13 all draw whilst both Leeds Tykes and Waterloo have left with victories.

Newbury after a good little run have slipped to three defeats in their last four matches. On the road this season they have already played nine matches and picked up four wins along the way at London Welsh, Moseley, Pertemps Bees and Waterloo.

Prediction:  Home win for the Chiefs over Newbury by 10 points.

Sedgley Park v Waterloo

13th placed Sedgley Park take on bottom of the table Waterloo at Park Lane looking to maintain their good recent form which has seen them climb the table.

Sedgley Park have done really well in recent weeks with three wins in their last five matches and a win here would make it three successive wins.

At home they have played nine times already and picked up three wins along the way against Bedford Blues, London Welsh and Nottingham.

Waterloo are eight points adrift at the bottom of the table and a result here would be a huge boost tot heir chances of climbing the table.

On the road Waterloo have played eight times and have picked up just the one win, a 22-13 victory at Exeter Chiefs.

Prediction:  Home win for Sedgley Park over Waterloo by eight points.

Leeds Tykes v Otley

Leaders Leeds Tykes are at home to 12th placed Otley looking to maintain top spot and improve their two point lead.

Leeds Tykes were held to a 21 all draw last week and had their lead cut to two points by Doncaster. At Headingley they are unbeaten since the opening day of the season when they came unstuck at the hands of London Welsh. Since then they have won seven in a row.

Otley have slipped to three successive defeats in recent weeks and this is probably not the game to end this run with.

On the road they have had a poor time with just the one win in eight matches when they overcame then bottom of the table Sedgley Park 43-20.

Prediction: Tykes win by 12 points over their Yorkshire rivals Otley at Headingley.

Cornish Pirates v Plymouth Albion

Fifth placed Cornish Pirates take on third placed Plymouth Albion looking for a win to seen them climb above the Devon side in the league table.

The Pirates lost their 100% home record last Sunday when they were held to a 21 all draw by league leaders Leeds Tykes.

Prior to this they had won seven in a row all by at least 17 points.

Plymouth Albion returned to winning ways last Saturday after losing away at Doncaster the week before. Prior to that on the road they had won five of their seven matches with two defeats, at Exeter Chiefs and Nottingham.

Prediction: Tough call this one but will go with Pirates by six points.

Nottingham v Moseley

10th placed Nottingham entertain second bottom Moseley at Meadow Lane looking to return to winning ways.

Nottingham after back to back wins slipped to a 35-17 defeat to high flying Doncaster at Meadow Lane.

At home this season they have played eight matches and picked up four wins and slipping to four defeats.

Moseley picked up a rare win last weekend at home to Coventry and will be hoping to make it back to back wins at Nottingham as they try and get out of the relegation zone.

On the road they have a poor record this season and slipped to seven successive defeats and conceding over 30 points in five of those matches.

Prediction: Home win for Nottingham over Moseley at Meadow Lane.
