Terrace talk - National Three South

Havant v Southend

Game of the day sees fourth placed Havant entertain leaders Southend.

Havant picked up an excellent away win at Canterbury last weekend and will be quietly confident of a win here against the leaders.

A win here for Havant could see them close to within four or five points of Southend in the league table.

At home this season they have a good record with six wins in eight matches and passed the 30 point mark in six of those eight matches.

Southend are looking to get last weeks loss at home to Westcombe Park out of their system.

Southend could find themselves off the top of the table if they come unstuck at Hooks Lane on Saturday.

On the road they have an excellent record with seven wins from eight matches and the only defeat was against Old Patesians early in the season.

Havant nearly pulled of a shock win at Southend earlier in the season when they were narrowly beaten 15-13.

Prediction:  Tough call but will go for a home win by five points.

Hertford v Cinderford

Hertford entertain Cinderford in a huge game for both sides as they look for the win to move away from the relegation zone

11th placed Hertford know a win here could move them nine or ten points clear of the relegation zone.

They have won just one of their last six matches and are the wrong end of the Form Guide.

At home they have a poor record with just two wins in eight matches against Chinnor and Old Patesians.

Cinderford are in eighth eight points clear of the relegation zone.

They returned to winning ways last weekend when they were winners away at Chinnor which ended a three match losing run.

On the road they have picked up three wins in seven matches at Chinnor, Clifton and Old Patesians. .

.

When the sides met earlier in the season at Cinderford, Hertford left with a 30-25 victory.

Prediction: Hertford to sneak it with five point home win.

Dings Crusaders v Chinnor

Bottom of the table Chinnor travel to 10th placed Dings Crusaders with both sides in need of the points.

Dings have not won now in three matches as they look to return to winning ways and move clear of the relegation zone.

At home they have done reasonable well with four wins and two draws with only Hertford and Southend leaving with wins.

Chinnor are 12 points from safety and need to start winning matches like this if they are to move up the table and avoid the drop.

On the road they have no form at all losing all six matches to date.

This matched ended as a 30 all draw when the sides met earlier in the season.

Prediction: Home win for Dings Crusaders by 12 points.

Lydney v Rosslyn Park

Second placed Lydney entertain ninth placed Rosslyn Park looking to keep the pressure on leaders Southend who have a tough match at Havant.

Lydney could well go top if Havant can beat Southend at Hooks Lane and they can beat Park and pick up a bonus point.

At home this season they have a great record with seven straight wins and in four of them have passed the 37 point mark.

Park were narrow home winners last Saturday against fellow strugglers Old Patesians which saw them move seven points clear of the relegation zone.

On the road this season they have managed just two wins in eight matches with victories over Chinnor and Hertford.

When these two sides met earlier in the season it was Lydney who came out on top 43-24.

Prediction: Home win for Lydney at Regentsholme against Rosslyn Park by nine points.

North Walsham v Clifton

Sixth placed North Walsham entertain 13th placed Clifton looking to end their losing run.

North Walsham have lost their last three matches and need to turn their form round and try and move back up the table.

At home this season they have won six out of eight matches, they won their first six but have lost their last two.

Clifton are looking for a third consecutive league win as they battle to try and get out of the relegation zone, they now trial Hertford by seven points.

On the road this season they have managed just one win in seven matches when they were 21-17 winners at Hertford.

North Walsham were 17-10 winners when the sides met at Clifton earlier in the season.

Prediction: Home win for North Walsham at home to Clifton by 10 points.

Old Patesians v Canterbury

Third bottom Old Patesians entertain fifth placed Canterbury in need of some wins to move out of the relegation zone.

Old Patesians are bottom of the Form Guide with Chinnor with six defeats in their last six matches.

At home Old Pats have won three of their seven matches to date and need to improve that record otherwise they will find themselves relegated.

Canterbury have slipped to successive defeats and will be looking to end that run with a win at Everest Road.

On the road won four and lost four of their eight road trips.

Canterbury were 33-10 winners when the two sides met at Merton Lane earlier in the season.

Prediction:  Away win for Canterbury at Everest Road by eight points over Old Patesians.

Westcombe Park v Bridgwater & Albion

Third placed Westcombe Park take on seventh placed Bridgwater & Albion looking to build on last weeks excellent win over Southend.

Westcombe Park got back on track last Saturday with their win over Southend to make it back to back wins after a spell of two defeats in three matches.

At home Combe have won seven out of eight losing only to leaders Southend 42-38.

Bridgwater & Albion are unbeaten in their last three matches with a draw and two wins. On the road this season they have picked up three wins and a draw in eight matches.

When these two sides met earlier in the season it was a close run affair with Westcombe Park coming through 27-26 winners.

Prediction: Home win for Westcombe Park over Bridgwater & Albion by 12 points.
