Terrace Talk National Three South

Canterbury v Lydney

Fifth placed Canterbury entertain third placed Lydney eight points behind the West Country side

Canterbury returned to winning ways last time out to end a two match losing run.

At home they have won five out of seven matches losing to just Havant and Westcombe Park.

Last weekend Lydney progressed to the next round of the EDF National Trophy after winning away at Redruth on the away team rule after extra time. They are looking for a sixth straight win as they look to regain second spot in the table.

When the sides met earlier in the season at Regentsholme Lydney were 44-25 winners.

Prediction:  Tough call but will go with narrow four point away win for Lydney.

Chinnor v North Walsham

Bottom of the table Chinnor take on sixth placed North Walsham needing to win their home matches if they are going to have a chance of getting out of the bottom three.

Chinnor along with Old Patesians are bottom of the Form Guide with six defeats in their last six matches.

They are six points adrift at the bottom of the table and 13 points form safety.

Both their wins and draw have come at home but they have also lost five times.

North Walsham put National One side Otley out of the EDF National Trophy last Saturday and will hope to take that form into this league match having not won in four matches. They have slipped down the table to sixth place which is their lowest position at this stage of the season for many a year. They drew last time out at home to Clifton which saw a three match losing run come to an end.

On the road they have played six times winning three and losing three.

When the sides met at Scottow earlier in the season North Walsham were 27-22 winners bur Chinnor did leave with a losing bonus point.

Prediction: 10 point away win for North Walsham at bottom of the table Chinnor.

Cinderford v Dings Crusaders

Seventh placed Cinderford take on ninth placed Dings Crusaders who they lead by two points in the league table.

Cinderford are looking for a third consecutive win after recovering from a three match losing run.

At home they have managed just three wins in seven matches. Behind them in the league table four sides are within five points of them.

Dings Crusaders returned to winning ways last time out after going three games without a win.

On the road though they have a poor record losing six out of seven and picked up a draw in their other road trip at Chinnor.

Dings Crusaders were 20-10 winners when the sides met at Lockleaze earlier in the season.

Prediction:  Home win for Cinderford by eight points.

Clifton v Westcombe Park

Second placed Westcombe Park travel to second bottom Clifton looking to maintain the pressure on leaders Southend and stay ahead of third placed Lydney.

Clifton have shown improved form recently with two wins and a draw in their last three matches to move off the bottom of the table and are now within seven points of safety after looking down and out at one stage.

Westcombe Park are looking for a fourth straight win to keep ahead of Lydney who they lead by three points but the West Country side have a game in hand.

On the road they picked up four wins and a draw whilst losing twice to Havant and Lydney.

When the sides met at Goddington Dene the home side were comfortable winners 40-8.

Prediction:  Away win for Westcombe Park away at Clifton to keep the pressure on the leaders.

Rosslyn Park v Hertford

10th placed Rosslyn Park entertain 11th placed Hertford with both sides locked on 28 points.

Rosslyn Park are looking for back to back wins after beating Old Patesians last time out narrowly 13-12.

At home this season Park have played seven times and managed to pick up four wins in a row after losing their opening two matches against Havant and Lydney.

Hertford are looking to avoid a third straight defeat and move further away form the relegation zone.

On the road they have done reasonable well picking up three wins in seven matches.

When these two sides met earlier in the season Rosslyn Park were 28-24 winners over Hertford at Highfields.

Prediction:  Nine point home win for Rosslyn Park at home to Hertford.

Southend v Old Patesians

Leaders Southend entertain 12th placed Old Patesians looking to consolidate top spot in the table.

Southend returned to winning ways last time out with an impressive win 34-20 at Havant.

At home this season they have own six out of seven matches with only Westcombe Park leaving with the points.

Old Patesians are bottom of the Form Guide with six straight defeats along with Chinnor.

On the road this season they have a dreadful record losing all eight matches although they have managed to pick up five losing bonus points along the way.

Old Patesians were surprise winners when the sides met earlier in the season at Everest Road 23-15.

Prediction:  Comfortable 12 point home win for Southend.

Bridgwater & Albion v Havant

This game has been called off with Bridgwater & Albion playing Bradford & Bingley in the 4th round of the EDF National Trophy.
