Terrace Talk - National Three South

Havant v Clifton

Fifth placed Havant entertain 12th placed Clifton who could move out of the relegation zone with a win at Hooks Lane.

Havant had a week off last week and return to action having slipped a place in the table. They will be looking to return to wining ways having lost to leaders Southend at home two weeks ago.

At Hooks Lane this season they have won six out their nine matches.

Clifton are now four unbeaten with three wins and a draw in their last four matches. They have moved to within two points of safety now but might find this a game to far with their winning run under serious threat.

On the road they have a poor record having lost six of their eight matches, winning one at Hertford and getting a great draw at North Walsham.

Earlier in the season when the sides met at Clifton Havant left with a 30-13 win.

Prediction:  Got to go Havant home win by seven points over Clifton.

Hertford v Dings Crusaders

11th placed Hertford entertain 10th placed Dings Crusaders two points clear of the relegation zone.

Hertford are in desperate need of a win as they are just two points clear of the relegation zone as they look to avoid a fourth straight defeat in the league.

At home this season they have managed just two wins in nine matches with wins over Chinnor and Old Patesians, the bottom two.

Dings Crusaders are just five points clear of the drop zone and have not won in their last five league games managing just a draw against Bridgwater & Albion at home.

On the road they have done poorly this season losing seven out of eight with just a 30 all draw away stopping the run.

Hertford were away day winners at Dings Crusades 26-14 earlier in the season.

Prediction:  Tough call this one but will go with narrow four point home win for Hertford over Dings Crusaders.

Lydney v Southend

Third placed Lydney entertain leaders Southend in a must win match if they are to have a chance of catching the visitors in the table.

Lydney have to win this one to have a chance of catching the leaders who they trail by 13 points but do have a game in hand on them.

At Regentsholme this season they have a 100% record with eight straight wins.

Southend are looking for a third straight win to keep their impressive lead at the top of the table which is currently 11 points.

On the road they have a great record with eight wins in nine matches losing at Old Patesians.

Southend thrashed Lydney 81-16 in the strangest result of the season at Warners Bridge earlier in the season.

Prediction: Tough call in the top of the table clash but will go with home win by five points. .

North Walsham v Cinderford

Sixth placed North Walsham entertain seventh placed Cinderford at Scottow looking to get a winning run going and climb back up the table.

North Walsham are looking to make it back to back league wins as they try and get their season back on track after a run of four matches without a win.

At home they have lost two and drawn one of their nine matches this season.

Cinderford will go to North Walsham in confident mood looking for a fourth consecutive league win which has helped them climb the table into the top half.

On the road they have done well with four wins in eight matches.

North Walsham were away day winners at Cinderford 32-26 when the sides met earlier in the season.

Prediction: Home win for North Walsham against Cinderford by seven points.

Old Patesians v Bridgwater & Albion

Second bottom Old Patesians entertain ninth placed Bridgwater & Albion needing a win to stop them falling further behind the teams above them and safety.

Old Patesians are on a poor run at the moment and have lost their last ten in a row to fall deep into the relegation zone and seven points form safety.

At home they have managed three wins in eight matches.

Bridgwater & Albion are looking to return to wining ways in the league but were impressive 43-27 winners at National Two side Bradford & Bingley last Saturday in the 4th round of the EDF National Trophy.

On the road this season Albion have picked up three wins and a draw in their nine matches.

Bridgwater & Albion were 22-17 winners when the sides met earlier in the season.

Prediction: Away win for Bridgwater & Albion at Old Patesians by seven points.

Rosslyn Park v Canterbury

Eighth placed Rosslyn Park entertain fourth placed Canterbury looking to continue their good recent form.

Rosslyn Park are looking for a hat trick of wins and have won three of their last four and are in the top half of the Form Guide.

At home they have five wins in eight matches having lost to Havant Southend and Lydney, all top five sides.

Canterbury are having a great season of National League rugby and sit in an impressive fourth place.

On the road they have five wins in nine matches with the four defeats all coming against sides in the top half of the table.

Canterbury were narrow 30-27 winners when the sides met at Merton Lane earlier in the season.

Prediction: Canterbury away win at Rosslyn Park by six points.

Westcombe Park v Chinnor

Second placed Westcombe Park entertain bottom of the table looking to return to wining ways.

Second placed Combe will be keen to get back to wining ways and try and get closer to leaders Southend who have a tough match away at Lydney.

At home this season they have an impressive record with eight wins in nine matches with only leaders Southend leaving with a victory.

Chinnor have been on a dreadful run of late and suffered eight straight defeats since beating Old Patesians at home back in October 20-19.

They are now 13 points from safety and need a dramatic turnaround of fortunes to have any chance of escaping the drop.

Westcombe Park thrashed Chinnor when they met earlier in the season 85-5, the biggest score of the season in the division this season to date.

Prediction:  Home win for Combe by 12 points over bottom of the table Chinnor.
