Barking v Cambridge

Second bottom Barking take on 11th placed Cambridge with both sides looking to return to winning ways.

Barking are level on points with Bradford & Bingley but have played two matches more and are 15 points behind Cambridge and a win here would still leave them at least 10 points behind their visitors.

Cambridge were beaten by Redruth last Saturday at home to slip to successive defeats, prior to that they had out together back to back wins. On the road they have a dreadful record losing all nine matches picking up three losing bonus points.

When the sides met earlier in the season Cambridge were 29-15 winners.

Prediction:  Away win for Cambridge by five points at Barking.

Bradford & Bingley v Harrogate

Third bottom Bradford & Bingley entertain bottom of the table Harrogate in a must win game.

This is a must win game for the Bees if they are to have any chance of catching Cambridge who they trail by 15 points but do have two games in hand.

At home this season they have a poor record with just one win in eight matches when beating high flyers Cornish All Blacks.

Harrogate have lost 16 in a row now and might fancy ending that run against their Yorkshire rivals. They did well against Manchester last Saturday before going down 32-22. On the road they have lost all eight matches.

When these two sides met at Claro Road earlier in the season Bradford & Bingley were 26-19 winners.

Prediction:  Home win for Bradford & Bingley at Wagon Lane over Harrogate by 12 points.

Halifax v Cornish All Blacks

Eighth placed Halifax take on third placed Cornish All Blacks looking to return to winning ways.

Halifax were beaten last Saturday by leaders Halifax 50-0 and will want to get that result out of their system.

The Yorkshire side have slipped of late and only managed two wins in their last six matches. At home this season they have done really well with seven wins in their nine matches and only Esher and Manchester have left with wins.

The Cornish All Blacks lost second place last week with their match against Bradford & Bingley called off and Henley Hawks beating Wharfedale.

They have done well on the road with five wins and a draw form their eight matches and the two defeats have come at Stourbridge and Bradford & Bingley.

Cornish All Blacks were 38-11 winners when the sides met at Polson Bridge earlier in the season.

Prediction:  Narrow away win for the Cornish All Blacks by five points at Halifax.

Manchester v Blackheath

10th placed Manchester entertain fifth placed Blackheath at Grove Park looking to continue their good recent form.

Manchester are third in the Form Guide with four wins and a draw in their last five matches.  At home this season they have four wins and a draw from their eight matches.

Blackheath are looking for back to back wins after their home win over Barking last Saturday and to close the gap on fourth placed Redruth who lead them by four points in the table. On the road they have played eight matches but managed just three wins to date.

Blackheath were comfortable 43-17 winners over Manchester when the sides met earlier in the season.

Redruth v Henley Hawks

Fourth placed Redruth entertain second placed Henley Hawks looking to continue their winning run and their rise up the table.

Redruth moved up into fourth place last week after their win at Cambridge their highest position in the table this season but are six points behind third place Cornish All Blacks.

At home this season they have done well winning six out of eight of their matches coming unstuck against Esher and Cornish All Blacks.

Henley Hawks were winners over Wharfedale last Saturday and with the Cornish All Blacks not having a game moved into second place in the table.

They have done well on the road with seven wins in their nine matches with only Cambridge and Cornish All Blacks defeating them.

Redruth are looking to do the double over Henley Hawks having won 23-19 at Dry Leas.

Prediction: Home win for Redruth over second place Henley Hawks by six points.

Stourbridge v Esher

Leaders Esher travel to sixth placed Stourbridge looking to continue their march towards the National Two title.

Stourbridge will be looking to return to wining ways after back to back defeats but this may not be the match to do it in. At home this season they have won six of their nine matches slipping to defeats against Halifax, Henley and Nuneaton.

Esher after slipping up against Manchester were back to winning ways last weekend at home to Halifax who thrashed 50-0. On the road they are unbeaten winning all seven of their matches.

Esher were home winners when the sides met earlier in the season 32-22.

Prediction:  Away win for the league leaders at Stourton Park against Stourbridge by nine points.

Wharfedale v Nuneaton

Ninth placed Wharfedale entertain seventh placed Nuneaton knowing a win will move them above their visitors in the table.

Wharfedale will be keen to return to winning ways this weekend with home advantage. At Threshfields this season they have five wins and three defeats to date.

Nuneaton were home winners last week against Stourbridge to move above Wharfedale in the table.

On the road this season they have played nine matches picking up just three wins to date.

Prediction: Home win for Wharfedale at Threshfields against Nuneaton by eight points.
