Comfortable home win for Henley Hawks who remain in third place in the table two points behind the Cornish All Blacks with both sides picking up all five points on offer in their respective games.
After a tight first half which saw the Hawks go in 6-0 ahead after two Mitch Burton penalty goals.
The match was decided in the third quarter with four tries, all from their forwards including a couple form the front rowers Liam Wordley and Andrew Le Chevalier to go 34-0 ahead.
In the final ten minutes they ran in a couple more tries through backs Jim Farndon and Allan Gill.

No 8 Stuart Williams led the way with a hat trick of tries, one in the first half and two in the third quarter of the match.
Sam Young put the home side ahead with a penalty goal in the 31st minute but three minutes later Ali Bressington responded for the visitors. But when Williams went over for his opening try on 39 minutes the home side were ahead 8-3. Before half time Bressington pulled three points back with a second penalty goal.
In the opening minute of the second half the visitors took the lead with centre Lachlan Porteous going over the home try line and Bressington converted for 13-8.
The lead lasted just two minutes with Williams completing a double and Young converting to make it 15-13. On 50 minutes Stourbridge were back in front with a third Bressington penalty goal.
Not long after the CAB’s were back in front with Williams completing his hat trick to make it 20-16 with the hour mark approaching.
Second row Tom Parker got the bonus point try on 64 minutes to put some daylight between the two sides, 27-16.
Prop Dave Risdon sealed the win for the home side deep into injury time as the CAB’s remained in second spot in the table.

With Nuneaton not playing Halifax moved up a place in the league table after this away win at bottom of the table Harrogate.
It took 28 minutes for the first score with Halifax taking the lead with a try from left wing Craig Emmerson and centre Greg Robson converted.
Six minutes later they went further ahead with Robson putting over a penalty goal. They got a second try late in the half when full back Danny McGee went over and they went in 15-0 ahead.
The home side got the first score of the second half with Nick Wainwright putting over a penalty goal six minutes into the half but three minutes later the visitors went further ahead with a third try as flanker Gareth Lewis touched down and Robson converted to make it 22-3.
Harrogate got a try on 52 minutes with full back Ed Smithies touching down and Wainwright converting. They got a second try on 68 minutes through flanker Richard Brown to get within seven of the visitors. In the last few minutes Robson, two penalties, and Wainwright put over penalty kicks as Halifax took the win and deprived the home side of a losing bonus point.

Honours even at Threshfields in a match dominated by the boot. Mark Bedworth got the first score of the match on 27 minutes but with two late penalties in the half Redruth went in ahead 6-3 as Michael Hook found the target.
Five minutes into the second half Hook put over his third penalty of the afternoon and they were 9-3 ahead.
Bedworth reduced the deficit on 53 minutes but left it late to snatch the draw with Bedworth putting over an 80th minute attempt.

Comfortable win for Blackheath at the Rectory Field running in 11 tries with four players completing doubles.
Five converted tries in the opening 22 minutes saw Blackheath 35-0 ahead with the bonus point in the bag. The visitors did manage to get on the scoreboard late in the half with centre Stuart Dixon going over and Tom Rhodes converting.
In the second half flanker James Kellard got his second try of the match two minutes into the half and Frankie Neale made it six conversions out of six. 10 minutes later fly half James Brooks completed a double and Neale again converted. They had got to 75 points after 66 minutes with a double from fly half Frankie Neale and centre Jonathan Wheaton completing a double and hooker Rob Webber crossing the visitors try line.
Neale ended the match with 30 points converting 10 of the 11 tries and bagging a brace of tries.

A big win for Cambridge and they snatched a late win over Manchester with Dafydd Lewis putting over an injury time try to gave them a narrow 28-27 win.
Manchester were first on the scoreboard with centre Scott Rawlings going over and Richard Wainwright converting for 7-0.
Cambridge were level on 12 minutes when centre Ian McInroy touching down and Lewis converted.
Manchester regained the lead on 32 minutes when full back Ben Coulson went over and they were 12-7 ahead. Lewis pulled three points back before half time as the visitors went in 12-10 ahead.
In the opening 13 minutes of the second half Manchester went further ahead with a try from centre Andre Wilson and a penalty goal form Wainwright to make it 20-10.
Cambridge dug in and got right back into the game with Lewis putting over a penalty goal and then tries form left wing Johannes Lombaard and right wing Phil Reed and with Lewis converting on of them they were 25-20 ahead after 71 minutes.
Manchester must have thought they had sneaked it when replacement front row man Aled Davies went over and another replacement Ben Wynne converted it to make it 27-25. In injury time Lewis put over a penalty goal and Cambridge took the win although Manchester did leave with two bonus points. |
