Biggest win of the season in National Three North as Blaydon massively improved their points difference running in 18 tries.
Leading the way were No 8 Peter Altona and winger Andrew Fenby who both went over five times and there was also a hat trick for centre Nick Gandy. Full Back Anthony Mellalieu kicked 17 out of 18 conversions to notch up 34 points.
By half time they were 54-0 ahead with eight tries in the bag.

Good away win for Morley but a defeat which leaves Darlington six points from safety with just three matches remaining so they need to win at least two of those to have a chance of staving off relegation. .
Morley were first on the scoreboard with centre Mark Pease going over for a try and a 5-0 lead.
Darlington were level on 17 minutes after full back David Glendinning went over for a try to make it 5all.
Tries from prop Gareth Dodgson and a double form winger Matthew Callaghan saw the visitors move into a 22-5 half time lead.
After the break Darlington got right back into it with tries on 51 and 62 minutes, Charlie Rayner converted one of them to add to an early penalty goal and there was just two points in it.
Glen Boyd then put over a 65th minute penalty goal before Pease sealed the win on 75 minutes as he completed a double.

A dreadful loss for Preston Grasshoppers at Darlington Mowden Park which has all but ended their chances of a top two finish.
Winger Peter Phelan put the home side ahead in the opening minute with a try and a 5-0 lead. Phelan got a second try on 16 minutes and this time Lewis Farrar converted it and the home side led 12-0. On 23 minutes Hoppers were back in it when second row Wayne Steel went over for a try and Paul Bailey converted.
Just before the half hour mark the home side went 29-7 ahead after flanker Ben Lonsdale went in for a score and Farrar again converted.
Four minutes later Hoppers were over the home line with flanker Juan Crous going over to make it 19-12. That turned out to be the final score of the match and left Hoppers seven points behind the top two with just three matches remaining.

The home side took the lead on 14 minutes when second row Nick King went over for a try and a 5-0 lead.
Just before the hour mark the visitors took the lead with a try form flanker Richard Jones which Charles Winney converted.
With half time approaching Fylde went back in front with a try form centre Paul Reeves which John Armstrong converted.
Leading try scorer Nick Royle got the third try early in the second half and with the other home wing Oliver Brennand going over on the hour mark they led 22-7 with the try bonus point in the bag.
Macclesfield did manage a second on 70 minutes when No 8 Geary Hewitt touched down but the final word went to the home side with Royle completing a double to round off the win.

Huge away win for Hull Ionians at Rugby Lions as they look to climb away form the relegation zone and with this win they are now eight points clear.
Ionians were 7-0 ahead in the opening five minutes with a try form No 8 Gary Acton and Karl Birch converted.
Back came the Lions with a couple of James Hawken penalty goal before Birch kicked one for the visitors to make it 10-6. On 34 minutes the home side went in front with winger Adie Hales going over the Ionians line and Hawken converting.
The visitors then took control with tries form scrum half James Greene and replacement Joe Donkin and with Birch converting both and putting over a penalty goal they went into a 27-13 lead
On 56 minutes the home side got back into the match with centre Matthew Goode going over and Hawken converted.
But a penalty try and a try from flanker Richard Wigham saw the visitors pull ahead again and get a try bonus point to run out winners.

Leicester Lions 12 (Tries: Hill (1), Mitchell (76). Con: Boden.
Leaders Tynedale were home winners over Leicester Lions to stay top of the table but they had the points difference advantage cut dramatically after Blaydon’s 124-0 win over Orrell.
It was the visitors who took the lead when centre Joe Hill went over for a try in the opening minute and Jon Boden converted it to make it 7-0.
On eight minutes the home side were level with left wing Ben Duncan going over and Phil Belgian converting and two Belgian penalty goals saw the home side go in 13-7 up at half time.
Scrum half Jack Smales got the second home try on 45 minutes and Gavin Beasley converted it to make it 20-7.
Flanker Andrew Murray got the third home try on 53 minutes and they secured the bonus point on 65 minutes when Duncan completed a double and Will Massey converted.
They got a fifth on 75 minutes with Massey going over before the visitors had the final say with a consolation try form right wing Allan Mitchell.

Comfortable home win for West Park St Helens over Cleckheaton with the home side running in five tries.
Andrew Soutar gave the home side the lead with a 19th minute penalty goal which was cancelled out on 36 minutes by Oliver Akroyd. But late in the half the home side went over for a try form scrum half Philip Webster which Soutar converted and then put over a penalty goal to make it 13-3.
No 8 Craig Smithson then went over on 47 minutes for West Park and Soutar was again on target to make it 20-3. On 52 minutes John Bentley went over for the visitors but two tries in three minutes either side of the hour mark saw the home side go into a commanding lead as flanker Paul Bamber and prop Ian Critchley went over and Soutar converted them both to make it 34-8.
Cleckheaton did manage a couple of tries with Bentley completing a double and flanker Akroyd going over. West Park did have the final say when centre Gareth Davies touched down. |
