Rugby Lions v Tynedale    

 

Leaders Tynedale travel to third placed Rugby Lions knowing a win with a bonus point is a must.  

 

Rugby Lions were away day winners at Preston Grasshoppers last time out to move above them in the league table on most wins.

They have won three of their last four matches and are guaranteed to finish in the top four.  

 

Tynedale know they need all five points as they look to make it three wins in a row since they lost away at Preston Grasshoppers.

They are level on points with Blaydon but have a better points difference at this stage.

 

Tynedale were winners at home to the Lions earlier in the season 34-17.

 

Prediction: Tynedale to win by nine points.               

 

 

 

Fylde v Cleckheaton    

 

Fifth placed Fylde entertain second bottom and already relegated Cleckheaton at Woodlands.

 

Fylde are looking to make it three wins in a row with a home success over the Yorkshire side as they look to maintain fifth spot which is where they are most likely to finish in the table.

 

Cleckheaton have the longest losing run in the table and are 13 points behind 12th placed Darlington in the table.

On the road they have managed two wins and two draws in their 12 matches to date.

 

Fylde were winners at Moorend earlier in the season 38-15 as they look to do the double over the Yorkshire side.

 

Prediction:  Home win for Fylde by 14 points over Cleckheaton.             

 

 

 

Darlington v Orrell    

 

12th placed Darlington take on bottom of the table looking for all five points as they try and win both their remaining with bonus points to have an outside chance of avoiding the drop.

 

If Darlington were to take maximum points form their last two matches at home to Orrell and away at Cleckheaton they could survive with West Park St Helens having two tough matches to finish the season with. They are nine points behind West Park as things stand at the moment.

 

Orrell are looking to avoid a 23rd defeat of the season but have lost all 12 matches on the road this season.  

 

Darlington only just managed to beat Orrell earlier in the season 30-29 at Edge Hall Road.   

 

Prediction: Home win for Darlington by 15 points.

 

 

West Park St Helens v Preston Grasshoppers    

 

Fourth placed Preston Grasshoppers travel to West Park St Helens with the home side knowing a win will see then safe for a second season of National League rugby.  

 

West Park St Helens need just a point to virtually guarantee survival in the National Leagues as they are nine points clear of Darlington with a vastly superior points difference.  

 

Preston Grasshoppers are fourth in the table and looking to finish third above Rugby Lions who they trail on the most wins rule at present.  

They were beaten at home last time out by Rugby Lions and will be looking to return to winning ways.

 

Preston Grasshoppers were just winners at Lightfoot Green earlier in the season 24-19.

 

Prediction: Away win for Hoppers by six points.               

 

 

 

Morley v Macclesfield    

 

Seventh placed Morley take on 10th placed Macclesfield at Scratched Lane looking for a win to guarantee at top half of the table finish. 

 

Morley are looking to return to winning ways with a home win over the Cheshire side. At home they have a great record with nine wins and a draw in their 12 matches to date.

 

Macclesfield saw their three match losing run come to an end last time out and secured their survival in the National Leagues for another season. A win here could see them move up to as high as eighth in the table  

 

Macclesfield were 27-13 winners when the sides met earlier in the season at Priory Park.  

 

Prediction:  Home win for Morley by eight points.  

 

 

 

Darlington Mowden Park v Leicester Lions    

 

Sixth placed Darlington Mowden Park entertain eighth placed Leicester Lions looking to maintain sixth place.

 

DMP are looking to return to winning ways with home advantage over the Lions and stay above them in the league table as they are three points better of than them at present.

 

Leicester Lions returned to winning ways last time out and have won four of their last six matches to move well clear of the relegation zone. 

 

Leicester Lions were narrow 16-10 winners at Westleigh Park when the sides met earlier in the season.   

 

Prediction:  How win for DMP over the Lions by eight points.                

 

 

 

Blaydon v Hull Ionians      

 

Second placed Blaydon take on ninth placed Hull Ionians looking for all five points to keep the pressure on Tynedale who have a tough match away at Rugby Lions.

 

With home advantage Blaydon will be looking for a big win to improve their points difference and put the pressure on Tynedale.  They are the only unbeaten side in the Form Guide with six wins out of six.

 

Hull Ionians were winners last time out and have secured their National League status for another season.

They are looking for a fourth straight win which has seen them climb away from the relegation zone.

    

Blaydon were 13-3 winners in a low scoring match earlier in the season.

 

Prediction: Home win for Blaydon at Crow Trees by 12 points.
