Singapore Rugby, in conjunction with Standard Chartered Bank, wishes to appoint four Rugby Development Officers on a 12-month contract. These roles will involve:

(a)   Introducing Tag rugby and contact rugby in primary and secondary schools;

(b)  Promoting Singapore Rugby programmes to schools who do not currently participate;

(c)    Organising festivals and carnivals of rugby;

(d)  Supporting clubs in youth initiatives and in particular the transition of school players to club participation.

Candidates should ideally be either graduates with a sports-related degree or working towards a third level qualification where this experience would be of relevance. They should also possess an IRB Level 2 qualification or equivalent and be able to provide evidence of practical coaching in a school or club environment. Candidates who hold a Level 1 award may upgrade their qualification through SRU courses. Coaching girls in contact rugby will be a distinct advantage for one of the posts.

Two vacancies exist in July 2008 and two vacancies in September 2008. A monthly payment of S$1500, which is inclusive of a traveling allowance, is payable to each officer as well as the cost of flights and accommodation.
