SALES MANAGER Twickenham Salary c. £40,000 p.a.
Twickenham Experience Limited (TEL) is a joint venture business, of which the Rugby Football Union is the major partner. It was formed in part to harness one of world’s great sporting venues as a leading conference, exhibition and banqueting centre. We have an ambitious growth programme, utilising not only our existing superbly equipped function rooms and executive boxes overlooking the legendary pitch, but also the fantastic new South Stand facilities incorporating over 5000m2 of banqueting and exhibition space, a Marriott Hotel, a purpose built auditorium and a Virgin Active leisure club.
To help us maximise our meetings and events revenue, we are seeking a proactive Sales Manager who will be responsible for the management and motivation of the meetings and events sales team.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring all venue sales budgets, excluding match day revenue, are met - Managing, motivating and inspiring the TEL venue sales team - Maintaining and expanding business from existing TEL customers - Researching and developing new business from appropriate market segments - Developing a strategy for key accounts to increase revenue and meet agreed targets - Hosting familiarisation tours for key clients and agents to create awareness and increase profile - Understanding and targeting local competition and supporting marketing initiatives/ campaigns - Representing the venue at relevant exhibitions and trade shows
The preferred candidate will have managed a successful meetings and events sales team, be familiar with the sales process and have the ability to produce and manage sales plans and develop the business strategy. The preferred candidate will also have positive relationships with leading venue agencies and demonstrate a desire and ability to both sell and manage proactively. While not essential, proven experience of launching a new venue or facility will be beneficial.
The Sales Manager will be a member of the Senior Management Team at TEL and greatly contribute towards the development of the company.
